I slowly saved up for all of mine. Once you complete an achievement you can wait with claiming the reward. If you claim several at once when you are ready to buy a slot you can at least avoid spending those by accident. So I just leave them is the white house for safe keeping.

I will probably make a purchase too when I get a good discount offer.

I spend them a couple times on speeding up crops per accident, like corn and wheat. That's really frustating I hope that doesn't happens again.

I think we've all done that...

In the beginning I made the mistake of opening those locked toolboxes. Once I learned that wasn't worth it I started spending them on slots whenever I could. At least if I spend them I couldn't waste them on something. So buying some slots for the dairy plant, sugar mill and animal feeds is very useful to do. A couple of extra slots on the bakery and popcorn pot come in handy as well and or buy the cheaper slots for the pie and cake oven. That will help you keep them running through the night.

Me too! Wasted a few on opening the toolboxes...
I find that extra slots in the sugar mill and dairy are one of the most useful things I have spent diamonds on
