Clan war lineups is a must!

    What's up guys

I am sure this has been brought up and I am certain other clashers have had this idea already, but I would just like to reiterate how important clan war lineups could be to the majority of clans out there.

My clan has been stricken with a couple interesting problems lately. Our clan is mainly made up of people we know in real life, which can be a bit unfortunate SOMETIMES. For example, if one of our friends has recently started playing and they want to join, it can be compromising to the clan war matchup and outcome. Clan war line ups would solve this issue entirely, by allowing members to opt in or out of the war. Leaders Would also be able to opt other members in and out, this would take care of inactivity issues and allow clans to choose the best members possible for war. Allowing clans to be able to welcome anyone without it negatively effecting clan war matchup's and outcomes.

Another example is on the other side of the spectrum. If a really high level player wants to join, it too can be detrimental to our clan war matchup and outcome. Particularly if they have rushed their base. Adding this player would potentially draw in a base that is too high a level for the rushed player to attack, or even sometimes defend against. So again, clan war lineups would completely resolve this issue.

The last point I want to make is that without clan war lineups available, clans have become exclusionary (more so than ever). On more than one occasion I have been faced with the responsibility of kicking out someone I didn't entirely "want" to kick out, but it was in the best interest of the clan. This can really sour some people and turn them away from playing, particularly players who have rushed their bases (because kicking them might make them feel like they messed up on this game and discourage them from continuing). I think it would be in the best interest of Supercell and clash of clans to implement clan war lineups ASAP!

Just to be crystal league clear on what clan war lineups would be, here is what I am suggesting

*Players would be able to opt in or out of the clan war prior to prep day
*Leaders would be able to opt any other players in or out prior to prep day
*Only players opted in would count towards the clan war line up total (32 members with 12 opted out would be 20v20)

    Thanks for reading!

The only problem with opting in and out the war is that it would mess up how a clan is paired up with another clan. like if you opt 5 people out in a 35 vs. 35 you would have 30 vs. 35 which would mean that you would lose 10 attacks for you clan successful or unsuccessful. HOWEVER, there is a way to loop around this problem. Before the leader/co-leader starts to search for a war there will be a little message saying "Would you like to opt out any players from the war?" or something along those lines. The leader would simply then check off any player he would not like in the war and then the search would begin.

Yes the opt in out was always intended for the period prior to prep day. You will NOT be able to opt out after war has started.

    Cool

Good idea but I think that it is true about too many that will opt out and i think it would be good if leaders can co leaders can opt people out before starting a war

You are on to something. I have a very similar idea. Here is a thread I posted earlier

This is an idea I have been thinking about for awhile now. This could help clans who want to have more competitive wars, clans that have members who sometimes dont attack during clan wars making their clan lose. Let me you know what you think.
For the purpose of this example lets say you have a clan with 30 members. When a clan leader or co leader chooses to go to war, they would first choose the number of members in their clan they would like to go to war. With 30 members you could choose 10,15,25, or 30. Lets say the lead or co lead chooses a 10 member war. Once they chose 10 members, a message would come up in the clan message board that looks exactly like a donation message and would say (village name) is trying to rally for a war! Join him now! Or something along those lines. There would be 1 spot already filled because the member who started the war would automatically be entered in the rally. Of the 30 eligible clan war members, the first 9 to join will go to war. Once the 9 spots have been filled, the search for the clan war will begin automatically. If somebody who joins the war does not use at least one of their attacks, then they would be penalized by not being able to join the rally for the next war. Also if the lead or co lead choose a 30 member war, then the search would start like it does now because there would be no need for people to join the rally.

I really think this would be beneficial. Not everyone is a dedicated clasher and when you are in a war and not everyone is contributing it can be frustrating. This would enable people, who actually are ready and craving that awesome loot bonus, to join and win a war. Let me know what you think clashers and supercell

I like the idea of choosing how many members you want to bring to war, but I am not fond of requesting for members to join in..it would prolong the war process way to much. Personally my clan only has 24 members right now, so we are good at communicating with one another, and I would imagine most clans that take clan wars really seriously like my clan does also communicate well enough to know who wants in and who wants out. At least in my experience I have felt like most people want and like to participate in war. So the main purpose it would serve would be to opt out inactive players and too high/too low players
