    ⚡️Lightning Rods⚡️

My idea came about after the 1 millionth time of my Dark Elixer being struck and almost 2 days worth of collections taken by lightning strikes. I was thinking of a lightning rod that can be constructed and possibly upgraded to absorb (maybe if they can be upgraded different percentages of absorption) lightning spells near the vicinity they are dropped. Now it's up to the game makers, but maybe the absorbed energy can be set to a collector and boosted for a set amount of time. I think it will deter people from this kind of tactic where they just strike you with lightning and leave. It can be hidden (most preferred) or out in the open. Let me know what you think.

DE lightning is a little annoying.

I think it would be better if the game applied an exponential loot loss formula to the storage instead though. That way it helps control it - not eliminate it and does not add any new buildings to the game. We really don't have much real estate to add more buildings.

What if, like a true lightning rod, it can be placed on top of a building? Acting as a defence mechanism for that specific building you want protected. That is, if your worried about building space.

Yes, a new formula would be nice. Possibly a percentage of the square root of the amount of DE? Or something like that.

Well. A percentage of a square root of 1000 de in one zap is anywhere from 1-100 de with however many zaps you use.

And to be honest. Zapping is very very annoying but there are many things in the game that are very very annoying. A "lightning rod" could be implanted but maybe it takes 1 zap to destroy and then the regular zaps take action. As well as having maybe 3-4 lightning rods? Mortars getting zapped can change the entire raid. Just a maybe.

I think if you start applying the lightning rod idea to other buildings than just your storages, this will completely ruin any use of the lightning spell. Once you get to TH 8, you need at least 2 of them to be able to take down mortars or air def, and if any base has the capability to neutralize one or more of my spells, it could completely thwart my attack.

    or........

usually lightning spells are used to take out defenses (usually mortars) so I was just thinking that lightning spells could do less damage to storages.

    Especially DE storages

. Thanks corporate tool. I use lightning all the time. My idea came only as a protection for my DE storage. I can see how, if there were 3 or 4 of the possible rods out there it would make the spells useless. Not my intention. 1 maybe 2 would be all thats ever needed. I'm not asking for something that absorbs 100% of the lightning strike but maybe as mentioned earlier, it can be placed on top of the building you most want protected from lightning. I.e. Your DE storage and absorb maybe 25% of its current effectiveness for each spell dropped. Possibly all other buildings in the vicinity will still accumulate the spell's full power since they are not equipped with a lightning rod. And as I mentioned earlier, the absorbed power can actually benefit the victim in that it boosts one of your collectors for a short while
