That base does look in hard to get the De since you have to go through as high hp thing just before you hit it. Though you have 5 extra defensive towers that I dont but I might try something like this. I swapped to cloud whiskeys base the other day which has been working nicely. I'm upgrading my defenses heavily right now for this week so once the big towers are up and running I should be able to protect more De I hope. Had 4.5 mil gold and another 2 hours to play so I just knocked out the lev 3 xbow instead of the lev 2. Was kinda tossing around the idea starting my other one soon but without any xbows man will I be vulnerable and only able to marathon the queen.

Hey stich what level did the queen go beast mode at? At 10 or 11 when tested her she was still dying fast and took building out slowly. I was attacked with a lev 25 queen and she seemed pretty impressive especially when raged. At what level does she 3-4 shot buildings usually?

When I started my DE journey I think my AQ was 29 and fairly beastly. I'd say 25 was great. I honestly only used her about 5 or 6 times until she was maxed at which point she's turned into a mega beast (even without Rage)!

Regarding a DE base design for TH10, you can't go wrong with the below. I've only lost DE to the occasional lightning storm and haven't reloaded a trap in about 3 months either! :

I have been looking for a DE protecting base, this looks really good. Just got my queen to 30, so on the final slog.

Do you not struggle maintaining your trophy lvl with the TH so exposed?

I know you asked Stitch, but I'll throw my 2 cents in. For me, I tend to play in stretches of at least 2 hours once or twice a day. So, I'm able to get a bunch of win's in with only 1 loss on the TH snipe defense. 9 times out of 10 it's just a TH snipe too so the trophy's tend to be in the 4-7 range most attacks which is negligible.

However, to your point I didn't play very much at all this weekend and only jumped on to do one attack two or three times after saturday morning and ended up losing those attacks (with lots of good DE) and then add that to a handful of TH snipe losses and my trophy's quickly went from 2000 down into the 1800's. doh

They're easy to get back up though, so I'll be back in Crystal III this evening.

If I was to keep both Heroes upgrading and work a bit slower then I'd probably stay around 2,000. It should be possible to make 18 to 22k DE per 2 hour boost (average)

If I had either the BK or AQ to help out then maybe 2,100 to 2,200 would be slightly better, say 20 to 26k DE (average). It's hard to maintain trophies AND get the DE without a hero in my opinion here.

This weekend I've been experimenting by going a bit higher with my level 40 AQ and tried 2,400. It was insane and in 3 x 4 hour sessions (I'm really trying to get the BK finished quickly lol) I had 2 over 60k DE and 1 over 70k DE! The average DE amount seemed to be 2 to 2.2k DE but I found a hot patch and found a number of abandoned TH10s with level 6 drills. I didn't see many level 6 drills down at 2,200 trophies. These bases were offering 3.6k so really boosts the numbers! Tuvya told me to max AQ first and then it was easier to farm for BK. I wished I listened to him a bit earlier and increased the trophies. AQ doesn't take too much damage either as a number of bases are still prem up here plus the loot bonus was 200 DE each time as well.

My army comp (and this is the biggest PITA each raid) if you're interested:

    Barracks1: 4xGiant, 3xWB, 7xGob, 16xArchers, 11xBarbs
    Barracks2: same as 1
    Barracks3: 3xGiant, 3xWB, 7xGob, 16xArchers, 17xBarbs
    Barracks4: 3xGiant, 3xWB, 10xGob, 15xArchers, 13xBarbs

Note: I always use 100% of the army each raid, even waste troops in the corner if needed, otherwise it's too hard coming back to base and working out what the army for next raid.

I should be finished within 2 weeks. I bet you $10 that Supercell releases a 1 Gem Boost period the following day
I was only able to play for 2 hours on Saturday morning and DE was friggen insane. I stayed in the 2000-2100 range and hit at least 5 or 6 with 3900 DE and barely had any below 1500. I'd say I averaged over 2000 per attack which is the best I've ever done. It was so good, I just kept nexting until I found a 2k+ base to hit and they kept coming.
I didn't record what my DE was before I started, but I'm pretty sure it was in the mid 80k's at the beginning of my 2 hour boost session and I finished with 140k.

Either way, it was off the hook and I didn't feel the need to do any more farming the rest of the weekend because I started my next hero upgrade and still had enough left over to do the following one which wasn't for another 4 days.

Try max queen first, because she's proer when it comes to farming [even if you so do use giants wb barch at some point in time] vs the king... [the king always tends to run to suicide hehe although he does good damage]
Fully maxed out TH10 by farming on 27th Feb 2015

I've been trying to farm in the 2000 range for DE with great success. Took my queen to lvl 12 and witches to lvl 2. Crystal farming sure is different than the gold leagues, but its been great for DE.

Thanks man. Yeah - that's my concern. You are going to waste an evening pushing though, when that time could be used to farm 20/30k de.

I have just spend about 3 months farming de in Champ, if you do get bored, like loons and play in spurts like you said, its an awesome place to be.

Anyway, I wish you luck with your quest, I'll be keeping an eye on your thread. My queen is at 30, powerleveling towards max, and my King has been abandoned at 12!

Agree on pushing back into Crystal. It's not ideal and I would have certainly rather not lost my Crystal badge.

I think the "farming base" is really dependent on playing style. It usually works very well for me because I'm on almost every day. What I should have done was shift to trophy mode base for the weekend to hold or more likely gain trohpy's.
I think my shield is popping here in a couple hours so I might do that real quick so I don't lose more.

Yeah I agree that play style matters on if you need a hybrid base or not. Also your Army type. If you play in sessions its easy to maintain trophies. I just switched recently to cloud whiskey and it was a bit of an adjustment. I can attack spratically sometimes just need to Make sure to win and have at least a medium session here and there to make sure I'm possitive. When I'm doing 2 hour sessions with boosts and loons I go up so many trophies I have plenty to spare. I'd imagine for someone who uses an army that has more trouble 3 staring bases it might be a bit harder
