Should I bother maxing th9?

I have been contemplating on this as well.
I am rather new to TH9.

But since I only ever attack TH9 and TH10 players with Balloonions when farming (Crystal 2 to Masters 3 league), my Loot would not really change when I go to TH10. I haven't attacked (or seen...) a TH8 in a week propably.

I will therefore not max my TH9. I will enjoy it some more and then go to Th10 once I feel like doing so.

As a TH10 you will have a 10% loot penalty applied for all TH9 bases you attack and a 50% loot penalty for all TH8 bases you attack and TH7 and below are gone forever.

I'd be curious to see a screenshot of your base to see how all your defenses and army camps are, but from the sounds of it you have a long ways to go to max out TH9.

I pride myself on being an efficient farmer and constantly watch my gold per hour. From TH9 to TH10 I took about a 15-20% hit on gold per hour due to having to farm exclusively on TH9/10 bases. I have maxed camps and lvl 6 barb/arch farming troops so I can farm at 1900-2100 range very easily.
If you don't have maxed TH9 farming troops then you will be forced to farm lower in Gold I/II and your life will be absolutely miserable and you will likely take a 50-75% hit on your gold per hour.

You can certainly do what you want, but I strongly recommend maxing almost everything (if not everything) at TH9 before going to TH10 because it's simply easier at TH9.
I went from TH9 to TH10 with about 6 weeks left on maxing out my TH9 defenses, but I also had full lvl 9 walls and had 25 or so lvl 10's before I upgraded.

At an absolutely minimum I always tell people to ensure your farming army is maxed with camps before moving to the next level. If you're always going to farm in Crystal 2 through Masters 3 then yeah the hit would be fairly minimal and you might even get an increase in your farming with the extra 20 camp spaces and lvl 6 minions.

I'm a BARCH/BAM farmer, so I enjoy the 1900-2100 range myself, so I do still see a fair number of TH8's that I can no longer hit, but I still do quite well as a TH10.

It's pretty obvious he means that the loot penalty is so severe it will never be worth attacking them.

OP - do what you want, as long as you know your gold per hour will drop massively at TH10 - I think mine fell by about 40% when BAMing. On the plus side once you have infernos up you can comfortably hang out up to M3 with out being attacked much. I mostly farm up there with balloons now.

Bottom line.




gold and elixir are easier to raid as a TH9 compared to TH10. Plain and simple. Lots of people struggle with the differences of the 2 once it's too late for them. You're posting here asking what you should do, even though you know the correct choice is to max out. You're not going to listen to people on this forum, so close the thread and do what you want.
