They used to hypnotise me when I was new to the game, checking up on top players bases and watching the lava surge

May I ask you what trophy range? Was it mostly collector or storage raids? Did you boost barracks?
I find great loot at 1700 - 1800 with a bit of search.

Are your heroes maxed too? What process did you use to upgrade them?

How did you max defense and do walls - did you work on walls as your defenses are upgrading?

My heroes are nowhere near maxed. bk20 and aq19. I was mostly in gold with barch but wished I had farmed in crystal league so I could've made more progress on royalty, especially recently since defenses were maxed and I had nothing to keep builders busy. I left a builder free just for walls. I was averaging between 9 and 12 million gold per day so working on defenses and walls at the same time wasn't an issue.

I kept a builder free for the walls the entire time I was maxing TH9. The lavas took a lot longer though. If I could do it all over I'd farm them in Crystal instead of Gold. I would've been able to keep my heroes sleeping more often...oh well, hindsight.

Please tell me more about this. I got about 30 lavas and farming for it at Gold league; my heroes are 16 and 17 (I want to get these up too). Should I move to Crystal? C1, C2 or C3? I am taking my time (lazy) using balloonion.
