I dont see how this will help, maxed collectors gain 25k each in the average night's sleep (8-10 hours). You can steal 50% of whats in collectors when you raid (12.5k). 12.5k • 6 = 75k
Will you raid bases with only 75k total in the collectors? And you get raided in less than 4 hours usually, depending on if your town hall is in/outside. But im only assuming you go on clash daily....
Selfish? I couldn't care less if my name was plastered on to this, I would go with anonymous if that was an option. I highly doubt SC would look at this either way, I moreso had the plans to bring this information to the table and let everyone know about it. My clan doesn't like it, the occasional people I speak to on global don't like it.
Good ideas such as Mastermind's require way too much effort to put into this. I provided a simple solution, another player has provided an easy alternative, there is no thought process to do this. SC should look at this and say, 'hey, why haven't we done this yet?'. Rewarding addictive players and enticing more and more to be drones is the wrong way to go about things.
Maxed out - base and boredom.
I used to enjoy upgrading them around exam time (in January) when I had little time to raid as they were cheap upgrades and kept my builders busy! This exam time round I'm not so luckybut they are so cheap to upgrade I don't think I'll ever fully understand why people don't max them, I mean it's essentially loot generated out of nowhere! But hey, each to their own! I agree with the OP that people should max them but people shouldn't be penalised for not doing so.

If they added achievements for collecting your own resources it would help more than people might think. Most players such as myself enjoy completing the achievements, and if there was an achievement for collecting a certain amount of each resource from buildings it would promote players to upgrade their mines, collectors, and drills. So there would be 3 achievements added, one for each resource. Sure, adding these would not make a noticeable difference at first, or even for a while. But it would give players more incentive to upgrade and cap their mines/collectors/drills and would make a difference.
@OP, your idea is sound as well, but seems like being forced to cap anything in the game goes against the freedom-to-play-how-you-want type of deal that the game offers.
On a side note my builder idea in my sig would give more incentive as well![]()

I thought loot would be terrible at TH9, but it's been about the same as TH8. Although, for 4 weeks I couldn't find any loot until the last maintenance break, but that could have just been totally random.
I'm finding decent loot now, and through those 4 weeks I couldn't find a single inactive, now I'm finding probably 8-12 inactives a day. I'd say my average is 215k each right now, I use giant+Healer so that's every 25 minutes. Not amazing, but definitely worth playing.
Sadly, the game still relies on inactives for enough loot, which I don't think should be the case.
As I mentioned earlier in this thread: There should be more of an incentive to upgrade collectors. Right now the only reason to upgrade collectors is to give your attackers more loot, it doesn't do anything for your overall loot. Even when leaving your TH outside for a shield, a lot of attackers will get a couple of your collectors with archers/goblins and so you're still losing a lot of what your collectors make.
Collectors just aren't worth it for the person owning them, for the attackers they're essential lol. It's kind of ironic, we upgrade these things so that other people can get loot.
It's kind of the most bizarre part of the game. When I couldn't find loot during those 4 weeks I was upgrading my collectors, but I still only got 4 of my elixirs up to lvl 10, 2 to level 9 and all gold collectors to level 8. The only reason I even did this though was because I couldn't find enough loot to upgrade anything else, not troops, not defenses, not walls. So I only did it to make sure my builders weren't idle when I couldn't find loot.
That's just sad. I don't know what they need to do, but find a way to let us upgrade collectors some other way, having to use a builder for what 2-3 weeks to get ONE max collector? That's insane for how little they help the person spending the build time.
The only reason I've upgraded some of mine is because I know it helps the game's economy, that's just something that the average player will never think about.
Also, achievements won't be enough incentive either. Only a small portion of players care about achievements (minus the ones that award large amounts of gems), they need to make collectors essential to gameplay for the person building them. They have to give us enough resources that we feel like we're completely missing out on loot opportunities if we don't upgrade them to max.
There is no reason not to do this. It helps the game's economy by increasing its consistency, which is definitely needed, and it helps the player building them as much as it should considering the time invested that could have been spent on our defenses/troops upgrades.

I think achievements are the best solution as gems are the only way to purchase builders. Generally farmers will not upgrade their collectors due to time/builder efficiency. However if you received gems to get closer to that third/fourth/fifth builder more farmers would be inclined to spend time on their collectors.
