I believe that having the ability to donate resources would be cool and fun, like someone could donate gold or elixir for training troops and upgrades.

I agree that being able to donate resources would be a nice feature. There were need to be some limits on it to keep the game balanced though.
Maybe only allow resources to be donated by clan members and only 4 times a day. It could be added to the clan castle as "Donated gold/elixir" and only hold 10% of the War Gold/Elixir limit.
