Forfeit Clan War Match [READ ALL]

Maybe its just our clan, but sometimes are opponent are way to overpowered to win against. my suggestion is to have a forfeit option during preparation day and you must wait for the preparation day to end before you can actually start a new war. (you save 24 hours, but you will also waste 24 hours.)

    How it works
    • You cannot forfeit once the challenge starts, you can only forfeit during preparation day
    • there will be a forfeit option for clan leaders to select during preparation day and if you select forfeit you will have to wait till preparation day ends before you can start a next challenge. e.g preparation day starts at Monday 0:00am, you must wait till Tuesday 0:00am before you can challenge clans.
    • You will loose all donated troops if you forfeit
    • If your opponent select forfeit you will be able to attack them like any normal challenges, however they will not retaliate back (your opponent will have 0 stars). if this is the case then you can guarantee a win as long as you gain at least 1 star.

    Example:
    Preparation Day:
    - Clan A Forfeits
    - Clan B plays normally

    Battle Day:
    - Clan B can just attack Clan A like normal battle, however Clan A will not retaliate as they are no longer there. so if you destroy any Clan A clan members you still gain win bonuses as for Clan A they will not attack you or gain any stars.

as for Clan A they will just start a new clan challenge

Thoughts? can be modified if neccessary

What happens to all of the troops that have been donated into members clan castles? You cant just return them...what if the donators elixir storage is full, how will they get their donations back.

i understand your thought though. We have been pitted against a couple clans that were much more powerful to us, and in our most recent clan war, we were much too powerful for our opponent.

maybe the long term fix is for a better algorithm for picking a suitable opponent?

You will loose all donated troops as you forfeit the match. you could say that's a penalty for forfeiting aswell.

Guys, did you ever consider this from your opponent's perspective? How is that fair that you wasted their troop donations, as well as 24 hours of their time??? If you forfeit, they have to waste another 24 hours prepping for a new war against a new opponent, when they should have been on battle day already.

Then what happens if that clan decides to forfeit too? Now two clans have wasted two sets of donated troops, and 48 hours of time of another clan when all they want to do is participate in a clan war, but they can't because everyone is too scared to go up against them.

Do you see how ridiculous this would be?

donated troops wouldn't be wasted if a clan is organised and if they both choose to forfeit then that's their choice. they will only loose 24 hours of time not 48 hours.

I understand the logic behind this, but it just leads to people dropping out of wars and the other clan wasting their time etc.

I agree with what someone said above in saying "work on better matchmaking".

I've noticed that the matchmaking overall is decent enough. Challenge yourselves to become better.

Obviously the more even it is the better, but I like the idea that sometimes you are the underdog and have to execute even better to compete. It pushes you to learn new strategies.

the clan that has not forfeit will have an opponent that doesn't attack back so they can pretty much guarantee a win as long as they gain at least 1 star.

And what is the fun in that ?

It's like saying you want to go play basketball against a team, they don't show up, and you win if you score one basket.

You came for the competition, not just to get handed a win. If it's so easy for people to back out if it isn't stacked in their favor significantly, then what do you think they'll do ? They'll keep dumping till they find it.

And I'm sure you could add more and more rules to this concept to make it feasible, however, it's just a bad concept to start in terms of an approach to solving the core problem.

Work on the matchmaking to make it more even, as was said earlier.

and how is it fun going against a clan that has several TH10 and your clan has 9 and below ?

the matchmaking system is complicated and i doubt they can ever get a perfect solution. if its perfect then no1 will bother forfeiting.
