how do i automatically make my war village match my current village?

By rearranging it.

You can't. They are two separate entities. It copied your base after the update was launched and now you have to edit both bases separately.

It would be good if they added a transfer base option for both normal base and war otherwise we will continually have to make both if we want to change to the same base for both...

This is good idea...having a button to copy your normal base to your war base.
