Arpan, the serious answer to your question is there is a point where you can kill your wifi and intentionally lose connection to the servers and attack a base without consequence, because the game never actually starts. In the time it takes the game to figure out the connection has been lost, you can start an attack and get a pretty good idea of where traps are and whether there are clan castle troops.

This doesn't benefit you much if you are just search for a base, but if you are doing either a revenge raid or a clan war raid, you can practice attacking the same base over and over until you get an effective defense for it.
