Of course you're stuck at level 44 for now. It doesn't increase to level 45 or higher in a few minutes...

Also, the XP points themself do go up...
Just the XP bar is always shown as full, like Sandalhat already said.

It's not just you who has this, everyone has the bug/problem. But not the way you described it.
