i farmed there for quite some time with loonians as a th9. made a ton of de and rarely used heroes as they were down most of the time upgrading. i ran 24/50 then just tried to have 1 light spell and a rage but usually didnt use spells if i didnt really have to

You must've seen me talking about it. And yeah it's great as a th10. Barely anything better, unless you want to spend a lot of time using other strategies in lower leagues.

As for th9. I spent most of my late th9 time in masters. Loot (DE mainly) was good and very consistent. I used 16/70 loon/minions. I didnt use heroes (both upgrading) and kept spell usage to a minimum 0-1 per raid. It's fun a challenging for a while, but after some time I actually hated it. I hated being a th9, without having proper defenses. I got hogged and gowiwi'd very often and lose big. So unless you got a builder that can dump your gold in walls or stay online for longer periods, expect to lose quite a chunk of it.

Masters for a th9 has decent loot and definitely helps improving your raiding skills. However, i found the higher gold leagues better if you want gold. Crystal2 with giants army is better(easier) if you're looking DE.

No doubt masters can be a good place to farm for a th9. But a th9 still has other good or perhaps better alternatives.

For gold on a Sunday, yes.
    But collector loot is faster.
