I have an idea. Since the barb king loves drinking dark elixir, maybe it should have a fav target of dark elixir storage and there is an animation where he grabs the entire storage, tips it over and guzzles it all down. You will only get this elixir back if the barb king dies during battle. If he does die, before he does his death animation, he will tilt his head toward the sky, throw up all the dark elixir and you can only collect 1/3 of this elixir.
