I think the next new dark troop should be a catapult. I believe it would have 5 small people that were along side it that pushed it. The defenses would target these people and as the people died, the catapult would get slightly slower. This catapult would take up about 10 spaces and cost around 50 dark elixer maybe. Its attack would be splash damage that is similar to that of a balloon. The catapult would have a ranged attack and would target defenses or just anything... ( not sure what would work better). Another idea for it could be that is has a longer range than a normal troop like an archer... For example it could fire over an elixer collecter at a cannon or archer tower if its favorite target was defenses.
