Just Gemmed before update
I gemmed my barracks and spell factory a minute before I received the messege about the maintence break. I planned to be on for the next two hours and by the time the break is over that time will have passed, at which time I will have to get ready for work and I won't be able to play as I had wished. Is it possible to have the 50 gems I used refunded?

Supercell isn't responsible for the exact time of update releases. It's Apple's fault.

Maybe they should schedule the update and post a date and time just sayin..
You gotta feel for the people that gemmed barracks, spells and heroes and get screwed by not being able to use them and not because of something they did wrong.

Lol its not apples fault, supercell is updating its servers and as always no refund will be given.
Yeah, but they going only into maintenance after they've received a note from Apple that the update is hitting the store and be rolled out.... So it's on Apple....
On the other side: as the release notes were already published yesterday it was clear that the update is coming latest today... So was maybe not the best idea to boost as most updates are coming around this time (except CW-update which was late by 8 hours)

I avoid boosting when updates are on the way as I have been caught out before. SC did post on Facebook an hour before the break that the update was on the way -so this time I think they did try and give advance notice where they could.
Painful to lose the gems from the boost - but as others have said, unfortunately SC will not refund the gems/boost time.
