Easiest way to analyze it is go to crystal league and up, where the hogs are. At gold 2, there's barely any hog to test it anyway. Better make anti-giants or anti-barch if you plan to stay at gold league.

You've got the right idea - the "middle layer" with no defenses that the hogs will follow to the center.
