Thread: 11 Year old managed to purchase up to €642,76 of Gems - please advise :(

    Take responsibility for your kid actions and pay the damn bill. Don't just rely on some rule bending just cos you can't be bothered like any other normal parent to take actions prior this sort of things happen and give his kid free access to his bank account and all the stuff and then come on the forums or call a lawyer to fix things when there a hefty bill to be paid.

    Do as Stitch suggested make him learn a valuable lesson from his mistake and most importantly make sure there won't be any other incidents like this in the future just like other parents have suggested.

    I just love how the German laws can be bended in your case, or at least how a few posters suggested. Since there's no way for the company that issued the bill to actually check who's making the purchases I for one think it's parents duty to take care of this sort of things if they give away the phone or tablet to a kid that's irresponsible, that doesn't care or even doesn't really understand the notion of money and how they come in your bank account or pocket.

    The game says that in-app purchases are allowed so they most likely wont give you a refund. Sorry
    you can restrict his ability to do this again by turning off in-app purchases on the phone

    I am sorry to hear that! since every house is full of kids and internet access devices it is only normal that such "mistakes" would occur! it is the generation and you cannot blame parents for buying ipads (example) for their 10 yo kids, it is the generation that has changed and you need to keep up with it...

    For the matter now, as many of the other posts have said, please contact the in-game support about it and if i was you, i would also try to pm mods/sc employees through here (forums). Also, even though i do not know how google devices work, i would definitely advise you to register his account with a prepaid debit card. So you could only deposit the ammount of money you think is reasonable for him in case of emergency! if he decides to spent it in games then it is simply his fault BUT also the maximum he could spent for will be only what is has been deposited in the debit card! i am 21 and i still use only debit cards !i have heard many cases of fellow university students where they had credit cards and somebody stole the card and simply got access to the account! with the debit card it is like holding 10,20 pounds in a card form.... anyway i am sure you know the difference but i just hope you get a refund! although your son is young i would also try to explain the value of money to him... learning that from a young age after you've made such a mistake i think it is priceless and it can be the ultimate positive think out of this story!!!!!

    please advise!
    I know Apple may give you your money back as an exception (even such large sums), in this case you should contact the company which effectively took in your money/charged you the bill (not Supercell, they won't do anything about it because the transaction isn't between you and them, even though you have been told to contact the developer first) and plead for an "accidental purchase".

    If the bill is from the phone company then it sounds like he was connected to 3G/4G instead of the wi-fi which is where the data charge is coming from. End of the day as you have said its your fault, theres no way you will get money back sorry to say. Guess someone will be going without birthday or xmas presents this year.

    Horrible advice.

    Did you even read the OP? He clearly states those were In-App purchases. And depending on the company he has got a chance to get his money back.

    this has happened because you have not restricted in app purchases on your device, I suggest you do this to prevent future occurrences in this and other games.

    Please follow these instructions https://gamesupport.supercell.net/hc...rency-purchase (also accessible from within the game under help and support).

    Don't panic this happens a lot when parents don't place restrictions on in app purchases and as this is a mistake I am sure you will be refunded.

    I have to say though on this comment "My Son is 11 years old - He had no idea that he was purchasing items at cost."

    I have a 12 year old and he has known for many years what in app purchases are - the prompt that comes on screen and the acceptance of that is absolutely clear that the person will be spending real money.

    Ok, first I will be off topic, and say that an 11 year old kid shouldn't have a phone (borrow his parents' for calls?), nor should that phone (if applicable) be associated with a credit card...

    That being said, I think in a situation like this, you have to get in contact will Apple, as they were the ones who put through the purchase. Supercell is not the Apple store, therefore refunds do not happen on the games end. You could try going into an apple store, or contacting apple support.
