Let me start out by saying that I intend for this thread to be constructive and helpful. However, in order for it to be helpful I need you frustrated clashers to let go of your anger and/or stubbornness if you have any. (I have been called hardheaded once or twiceTake a deep breathe, think about puppies, or picture yourself winning the lottery.-Whatever you need to do to open your mind, and read up.
I've farmed a lot. Started in August 13 and have a 1.1billion gg. I have seen loot great, and I have seen loot bad as others would say, but I have never been at a point where I couldn't keep my builders busy if I tried. (Remember the word tried. We will come back to it in a bit)
I started out a complete noob with a really premie th8 until I discovered collector farming somewhere around early September. What a breeze things became. I had soon maxed th8 and upgraded to th9. I believe I had been a th9 for one week when the loot update hit. I started to figure out simply collector raiding wasn't going to cut it. Not only was it boring, but it was getting harder and harder to find those juicy collectors. So I devised a plan to finish my xbows then move up in trophies to farm de for my heroes and lab. At first it sucked. I had no idea how to raid bases of my own level, let alone bases stronger than mine, but I kept at it. (Remember that word trying) Before long I was hanging out in master 3 hitting massive raids almost everytime. My de farm was unreal. I was farming it faster than my builders could keep up. I was simply farming de but I would always end up filling all my storages before another builder would free up. I did get hit for massive losses regularly but it was nothing I couldn't gain back in one raid. I came to accept it and settled into a groove. Before long I had maxed defenses, heroes and walls were 95% lvl9.
At this point I decided to drop a bit to crystal to farm gold for walls. I had one big problem: my de tank was full and all my de upgrades were done at th9. (Not sure that qualifies as a problem exactly). What to do? I broke out the piggies coupled with the lvl 30 heroes on all those poor souls in crystal. Gold income was through the roof for me. I was getting 1.5-2mil an hour. Before long I was sitting on 100 lavas while the rest were level 9. Queue the th10 upgrade. The horror stories I've read had me worried, but after a week ive had no problems in crystal. I use giants with barch and my heroes and I hit collectors and storages alike. I don't hit just 200k plus raids. I take anything that I deem to be efficient. Free 100k outside the base? I drop a few troops and i take it. Three or more storages together? I use most of my army and take it.
To the point, and the one thing I want you readers to take from this thread is that skillful farming is not collector raiding. Skillful farming is about efficiency and adaptation. Different armies and different strategies is what will prevail folks. I'm not a nexting person, but because I don't get caught up in total available loot, I dont have to next much. I don't believe this game intended for us to build our bases off brainless farming, and I'm honestly glad I was forced to learn something new. So put a positive spin on it folks. Adapt and overcome. You will be glad you did.
