    Why did you start Clashing?

I remember starting because one of my friends asked me to join his clan, and when I said I didn't play the game, he made me download it. I've been hooked since and have long surpassed his base

    So why did you begin?

    EDIT: 500 posts wow!

I got it because it was similar to that Camelot game... but it turned out to be way better! I got it towards the end of 2012, and I remember seeing it on the top of the app store and thinking that I was some kind of hipster hahaha

My younger brother was talking about this game, and at first I wasn't interested in the game until my younger brother got it on the App Store. When he was playing it, I asked if I could try it. he said yes, and at the first second I started I was immediately hooked. My younger brother and I played it together, until my younger brother found another game to play. Now, I play by myself (and got my dad playing, lol), and have grown to be a level 89 who is th9.

A year ago my cousin told me to get it so we could make a clan. I got it and understood the concept of gems, so I tried gemming it "upgrade your existing storages or get new ones" at that point i rage quit for a very long time after I failed to upgrade my storages. Than I came back 6 months later and got my clan castle and got to where I am now in about 7 months. I don't know who I credit for my rediscovery of the game though

Was just looking through the app store to see what the popular games were. Saw CoC up towards the top and figured I'd see what it was.
Found out my son was playing it and had a TH9 and didn't even realize it. lol

The appeal for me is that I love MMO type games that don't have an "ending". However, with CoC it doesn't require the continuous commitment of most MMO games. I can put it down and walk away any time, or grab a quick raid while waiting in line at the grocery store.
    I love that.

My brother got me started. I bought my iphone and it was the first thing he suggested I download. I say suggested - he downloaded it for me. He sold it to me by saying it was a strategy game & I used to like Age of Mythology so similar principle..... I started it one day when I needed a distraction or two & I became hooked. For some reason I find trying to destroy another persons base quite relaxing.

Unfortunately he didn't tell me that I should max troops and defences before upgrading... but despite this I'm still here...nearly 11 months on... maxing out TH9. Still.

The advertisements for clash of clans looked good, and it was a popular game similar to other games I play.
