so this has been happening for a while now and I'm curious to know if this happens to anyone else playing. my phone always gives me a message saying that a certain building is done upgrading or building but when I check that building is still being upgraded sometimes for a few minutes and even hours. I'm just want to know if this is just a glitch or something else.
It's the timing bug. The more active you are visiting bases etc the more time it adds to upgrades/builds.

They know it exists but can't seem to or want to fix it. If they were losing money they could probably fix it pretty quickly though.
Ohhh So the notification goes off when the upgrade was supposed to finish, not when it actually does? Didn't know that.

No not exactly, it should reset to the time left once you open the game and connect to the server but the issue with mistimed alerts is all to do with the timing bug. It's more noticeable when you play the game on two devices. If you switch from one to the other you notice the difference in alerts and how much time you actually add to your upgrades/troop builds etc by visiting bases, opening and closing the game etc.
The notifications actually work offline meaning you can have an hour left of an upgrade, turn off all your internet and in an hour you will get an alert the upgrade is done even though there's no internet. The times are like individual countdowns and every time you do something in the game like search for bases, open and close the app or whatever the small intervals pause the time slightly adding more time to the upgrades and builds in the game. It's ridiculous it's still around to be honest...
