What is the advantage of having more camp space rather than a maxed troop?

Wouldn't lvl6 giants have more health, therefore shielding the archers from fire (assuming I am using BARCH + giants + wb)?

So, what would the advantage be? Is the strength in quantity or quality?

Strength comes from having both quantity and quality. What's best is what gets you both the fastest. My advice is to go for army camps first. more troops = easier farming = upgrading your troops quicker.

It depends on the defence you are attacking.

Single unit defence is better attacked using more low lvl weak troops.
Splash defence is best attacked using single hgh lvl strong troops.

What you should upgrade first often depends on builder availability, you dont need a builder to reasearch troops.
