Wouldn't an attack from the left or right flank be more effective? (1) Higher lvl people usually have more success attacking me from those directions. I'm not convinced a direct attk with so few units would pull off the effect you are looking for. But I guess it does come down to how you use those units (2) LOL If your goblins did manage to get into the center as you plan, they are getting hit by 2 motars (should be 3...one is upgrading), 2 WTs, all 5 ATs, all 4 cannons, and if my guess is right, 2 HTs. I'm also guessing a few spring traps will rain on your parade If the max you can steal is 180, I guess I can see you getting away with two-thirds of that...maybe.(3)

1. No. The AI of the wallbreakers would be more likely to attack the wrong walls due to the angle on those sides.
2. It is all about timing when to send the units.
3. Your DPS would be no match for the goblin horde and your arrangement wouldn't redirect the flow that I would own you with.

Better design than Pedro's last two. But I would still own it.

I don't think 20-30 goblins would do much damage on a set up like that
plus the 10-20 wallbreakers may do some funny stuff

That's absolutely right. It has happened. But not just with 2 giants(my Mortars were taken out by spells).... any other insights Honda? Or anyone else? I will be rearranging soon.

HB808 got it right there, a lot of success or "more loots taken from me" were all coming from the North post. Up until now, no one has yet to 3 star this design. Archers did better than goblins the last time though HB808. I got attacked by a WB, Giants and Goblins - WB, Giants and Archers. Archers had more success that with the goblin horde.

Just curious, who's base would you point out as being an all around good base defensively? At least, of the ones you have seen. Or do most bases just breakdown with the right approach?

The giants are NOT there to decimate anything.

They draw fire. They are meatshields. I don't send them in with the intent to do ANY damage. I send them in to distract all of the defense while the wallbreakers waltz in and bust the walls.

This is the reason I usually put traps up front where the giants and wall breakers will naturally funnels in. They still get through in the end, but it takes more effort on their part. Again, I think you might want to consider placing your Clan Castle in the center. It will certain make a difference.

The fundamental problem with most bases is most people try to defend BOTH their resources and their town hall.

You can't do both effectively.

Once you have an understanding of what attracts what, how fast something can kill your troops, and what works best you can make the best defense. Everytime I see an "eggshell" design I just laugh and take their resources.

Ironically, one of the best designs I've seen is of this guy who had a base designed like a beetle with legs that owned wallbreakers. I barely made a dent in his design.
