I did not log into my account for approx. 2 two days.
Today I logged in and I was surprised I found FULL COLLECTORS and I hadn't been raided for two days. I have my TH outside!!
30 Minutes after I logged in I was raided again- suprise, surprise.
It seems that after ONLY two days I was already taken away from matchmaking.
Does this mean, after this short period of time, I don't need to buy a shield anymore?
Although there is no guarantee, the chances of you getting attacked are slim. The catch is that you can't log in during that time (so no collecting or chatting with clan mates).

I have found the same thing. Since Dec/Jan I have been taking 3-6 day breaks from this game only to find that I have not been raided for days and my collectors are almost full. I will say this is not the case EVERY time, but it happens much more often then not.
That seems like rather slim evidence.

I had a similar experience last weekend. Didn't think much of it, but that may have been what happened.

You can'tSupercell will put his/her village FAR FAR away from matchmaking. Spending 8 mil gold on next button is not enough to find his/her base
When you combine it with everyone's attacking experience of not finding collectors its actually pretty compelling evidence. Even the people who say loot is fine don't argue about the fact that there are less inactives.
Their argument is that there should be less inactives and you should build a stronger army to take storages.
It is so painfully obvious that SuperCell wants to eliminate collector farming and move to a storage raid based game where in order to succeed gemming is almost a necessity.
If you don't believe me just spend 15 minutes on youtube watching people raid before December of last year.
