    TH: 9 (mild preemie)
    Trophy: 1100-1200
    Army: Barch (level 4 Barbs, level 5 Archers) plus 6-10 WBs, and spells I try not to use (heal, 2 lightning, rage)
    Camp Space: 200

    Extra: I sometimes use gobs and jump spells. I find that to be more cost effective than Barch, but finding the right bases for that takes forever.

    My guess is I need to raise trophies, but every time I creep up in trophies I start getting slammed by fully upgraded TH9s and any old TH10.

    If you haven't got troops level high enough to take on maxed TH 8 or other TH 9 while your defense is still too vulnerable against other Th 9, then probably you should stay in your current trophy range. 1100-1300 is actually good for rushed TH 9 who needs to gain loot as well as protect it as good as possible. As long as you're not picky about what base you're going to raid, you'd do well.

    Question

    Hi, I'm mid TH8 currently at Gold 2. My main army composition is (all level 5) :
    2 Healers
    16 Giants
    8 WBs
    68 Archers
    20 Barbs
    8 Goblins

    Sometime I use Barch with some WB included. My target is gold and DE.

    Should I push it up to Gold 1/Crystal 3 or cool it down to Gold 3?

    You better push. Giant-healer can get you storages, no reason not to do storage raids at higher league. You'll get better net in the long run.

    Need a little help guys!

    TH 8; trophy count 1450 gold III; blue # 80
    200 troops max:
    1 healer; 10 giants; 6 WB; mixed combination of archers, gobs, and barbs; 3 heal spells

    I don't usually use the healer, BK (lv 5), or cc unless the storages are farther in.
    I've tried Barching, but i find it takes too long to find a base that's worth the attack. If someone has storages behind two walls, barching doesn't really work.

    Questions: what's the best trophy count to farm? what's your troop strategy?

    If by barching you mean doing collector raids, I'll say don't push your luck. Collector raids are bonus salad, not the main course. Don't depend on it. You might want to let go the healer and get a couple more breakers and add more tier 1 troops. That way your army is versatile enough to take collectors or do storage raids. Gold league is still good for loot.

    Sitting at 1400 trophies with a free townhall at the outside I hardly ever get attacked by a serious army, and if so, they don't take too much; Trapception is a killer. What about the hoggers up there? They could wreck my base easily.

    try the Three Doors base design by avernicus.i have been using that for about 3 months and have been 3 starred only once.serious hoggers start at 1700-1800 so no worries there.
    i use balloonion.it takes a lot of time to cook,but then you are able to target people with 250-350k loot as well as gain some trophies.i think Bam would be usable but not very effective

    TH9, currently Balloonion farming ins Masters III.
    I mainly went there because of the really nice league bonus and really good loot. It's pretty much the same kind of bases as in Crystal 1, where I was faring the week before.
    I rarely come across a TH9 here, it's basically all TH10s. Haven't seen a TH8 for a week or so. So to farm here, you should be ok to attack nice upgraded TH10 bases. You can practice that on the way up.

    Win Bonus is 75k Gold/Elixir and 400 dark elixir, which almost pays for the army (without spells)

    Yesterday I hit a couple of inactives, with empty infernos or full collectors.
    But also an average raid with 50% of an active base is proftable because of the bonus.

    I farm de and gold this way, but also elixir adds up enough to do the necessary upgrades on my base.

    I have my TH outside and mostly get sniped, so it's actually not difficult to stay here even as a TH9 when you know one or two Balloonion raiding techniques and attack apropriate bases.

    When raiding in sessions, I suggest boosting two barracks, one dark barrack and the spells. (Maybe even heroes if you prefer). This way you can attack every ~16 minutes.

    army composition :

    20 Balloons
    60 Minions
    6 Balloons in clancastle
    one or two rage spells
    heros when avalable

    I would go to 1500 trophies if you can, and get your troops up such as your barbs as they are what get you loot
