ive been th10 for about 6 weeks now, and the toughest part i found was that i had to change my perspective on what's good loot. You can't expect 1.2mil/hr gold like as a th9. It's about 1/2 that now as a th10. For casual players, loots fine, more so if you're used to using time expensive armies. But if you're used to barch/bam then the disappearance of easy th8 leaves a large space to be filled.

For me, I think this is the most stressful part of upgrading to TH10. So many fun new toys to build/upgrade, but only 5 builders... arrrgghhh

Personally, I'm shifting my farming to an elixir heavy focus and I feel BAM is the most efficient at farming elixir.

With any farming strategy there are pro's and con's. Balloonians work great for farming DE and Gold, but not so much for elixir. Same thing with Hogs, they're great for Elixir and Gold, but horrible for farming DE.
I'm hitting bases with lots of elixir and don't really care what the gold is for now to maximize elixir acquisition. Once I get my last camp started (in the next couple days) I'll shift back to a gold focused BAM strategy and start rocking on my lava walls again.

As for tips, I think that BAM or BARCH are by far the best approach to farm elixir, but as you mentioned it may not fit your playing style because it does require jumping on for a few hours of raiding.
Obviously balloonians can go net positive on elixir with good base selection but it's quite a bit slower.

If I could only play now and again I would without a doubt use hogs and focus on heavy elixir bases in Crystal II/III. Sure, it hurts hero upgrades, but it's only for a few weeks and then you'll be able to shift back to ballinions once your elixir needs are met.

    Good hunting!
Thanks! I'll definitely take this stuff into consideration

Yea we all went together but have completely different strategies. It is a very interesting read to see what we are all up to. I still don't understand you people that upgrade the lab:eek: I've had enough elixir for it 10 times over by now but it is just so...useless.

Better freeze spell for attacking IT bases... and L6 wizards/L4 dragons. Enough said.

My walls are neglected but I hit Th10 with two lvl 15 heros (I think... memory fads)

I had a similar start. I really pounded out camp upgrades at first, had saved a few goblin missions for the transition. That helped allot. I also prepared by looning in Crystal and making an attempt at Masters. I hit Th10 about the same time I finally broke masters. So using the power of a Th9 I was raiding quite well in Masters I. It was tricky but loot was enough to keep my builders happy, which is all I care.

I am a hardcore looner right now because of my obsession with DE. Soon I will be starting my lvl 25 BK upgrade. Its the best strategy that allows me to raid for high DE profits. Soon I will have lvl 4 drags and that will help tremendously.

Initially I was really surprised by now little my raiding style changed. Sure Barch and BAM were no longer effective because finding a target was impossible. Also with infernos and 5 seeking air mines I shy away from giant/healer (if they just let healers the unit heal, then they'd be fine) because there are too many variables for my liking. Once I got my minions to level 6 I realized for raiding they actually were better than dragons lvl 3 due to there speed and DPS. So if wondering about that, it is worth the 100 DE.

Speaking of DE I use to be happy with 10,000 a day. I gained a drill and now I can fairly easily making twice that on my good days and even more on an excellent day. DE is no longer a big problem to raid for (Crystal I and Masters III)

I have for the first time moved my TH inside because now that I have 2 level 3 infernos. I can do DAYS without being attacked. Sure once I hit maxed storage for gold, I do move it outside, but until I pass that 3 mil marker I have very little to worry about. DE isn't a big concern if full either because its easy to raid back and people up here generally want gold with there DE.

When clan wars started I noticed a learning curve though. Raiding another Th10 for stars is allot different than finding collector raids or exposed storages. Sure I can 50% easy with loons but duel discos, even with freeze, are a huge problem.

Since I spent a whole month upgrade my freeze spell there was a huge lag in the development of any addtional attacking power. With lab upgrades being all 10 or 14 days, getting your trophy hunting troops up to speed is difficult.

Hogs, Golems, Wizards, and Wizards are a big deal for Th10. Dragons are too but they seem under used considering they can take inferno fire like its nothing but a minor inconvenience (disco mode).

Allot of people rush to Th10, which I don't recommend. I may have a positive experience but I see allot of players rushing to get infernos. This is a double edged sword though, as you won't have the troops to deal with them if you rush. You want at least one troop from the big hitter list ready to be maxed for CW, otherwise you'll only be able to tackle level 1 infernos and be forced to attack down frequently. With that loot bonus for Th10 bases, you'll want access to that 4-5 mil bonus.

    DE is plenty at th10

My first lab upgrade will be minion lvl 6, that 14 days buffer should give me plenty of time to farm the elix for army camps.

I m a hardcore loonion user, and as soon as my infernos are done, I m heading to Master to farm.

After being on the forums for a while and hearing all the tales of woe from so many TH10 I was terrified to move on up, so I'm simply sharing this so maybe other TH9 have something to think about before doing the same.

So, as a TH9 I was defensively maxed 100% before deciding to go up to TH10. My heroes were relatively low at L14 and L10 and my golem is only L3 but with all other troops/spells being done in the lab. I decided that it was time to move up for two main reasons. The first being that farming walls is incredibly boring (I have 150 L9. More than enough for me) and I tire of it easily. The second being I wanted my inferno towers!

On the day my TH got some lava flowing on it I transitioned with full storages of elixir and gold. I instantly dropped elixir on my spell factory, lab and my new DE drill. My 8 million gold went to one IT, and I quickly farmed enough gold to four hours later start my second IT. 2 weeks in my upgrades are as followed...

    - Both IT on their way to L2. One with 3 days remaining, one with 7.
    - My third xbow on its way to L2 with 9 days remaining.
    - L6 cc on its way with 4.5 days remaining.
    - New archer tower and cannon both L7
    - New traps bought and one GB to L3.
    - New mines at L5
    - Third DE drill at L3
    - L3 golem had 7 days left in my lab when new to TH10... now freeze spell is 2 days away from L2.
    - BK to L15 and AQ to L11 (tomorrow)

    - 2.6 million in gold atm and 2 million elixir.

As for loot in general my first two weeks have left me in awe of how easy it has been to get gold and de as a TH10. After being on the forums all the time so many people make it sound like the end of the world while in my experience thus far (remember, my experience) the loot has been just fine. I decided to just stick around my normal TH9 farming range of 1800-2100 trophies and I've yet to have a problem. I am not a BAM, barch or mass archer farmer and I go after storages when I farm so really things have been great! Do I miss not being able to steamroll TH8 with full storages for easy 500k raids? Absolutely I do, but there are so many TH9-10 with maxed storages that are making up for it. Whether I am going with giant/healer combos, loonions or mass hog raids I am doing very well and very rarely need to next more than 15-25 times.

For 2-3 months as a TH9 I was always full on elixir... always. For the first time now I am struggling to keep up with elixir and the new upgrades. Especially with all the lab upgrades being so costly. My lab was dead for the first time in 14 months a few days back which bothered me but luckily I finally got enough to get my L2 freeze going. Elixir is going to be my grind!

That being said while a TH9 I would normally not battle unless there was at least 400k-500k combined that I knew I had a chance at, but as a TH10 I'm not happy knowing that I have the chance to get 300k-400k combined. When using loonions or mass hogs I'm still normally taking in 500k-600 combined though. All this being said, I'm still losing some raids going after tough bases and this needs to be factored in.

The biggest thing I've noticed however though is that I've only had two attacks on my base since building my IT. 2. Thats it. Sure, I've had TH snipes a plenty and people failing with barch or mass archers which I don't count. But only two actual attempts at going for my storages. One was a mass hog that got 21% and the other was a giant/healer combo with two L26 heroes which did all the work and got 2600de from me as two of each storage. That's it, nothing more. Not even when I had the maximum 800k combined a few times. I find this absolutely crazy but I guess I pass on every base with two IT as well when farming.

No one has attacked me in CW yet either since building the IT.

So. As a new TH10 all systems are go and I'm still having a great time. A bit bored that no one is raiding me, but farming has actually gotten more fun as I like tough battles to earn my loot and having to go after TH9-10 is giving me many of these types of battles. Don't get me wrong, there are still the occasional battles where I clean out a premmie easily, but the collector raids have been veeeeery few.

Just my thoughts and what has happened in my first few weeks. Hope it helps some that may plan on moving up to TH10 soon. Don't fret people, if you have any skill at raiding your loot will be fine, maybe even better!
Thank you for posting this. My th10 will finish Sunday and this is good to hear.

I've had all 5 builders on 14 day upgrades so I was using that time to push to masters to try to farm storages there. But even at a near max th9 I was getting abused. Either 100 percent or less than 40 percent which didn't give me a shield, but would lose 150-200k per attack. So I was attacked multiple times.

Then I realized, while clicking next, that I saw as many full storages in crystal as I did in masters, with weaker bases. So I've dropped trophies and am now waiting on Sunday. You have confirmed that I made a good choice.

So basically if you are a collector raider, it seems that at th10 you need to get out of collector raiding mode and switch to storage raiding mode. And if you find a healthy collector raid, it's a bonus.

Yes but.... In Masters III there is a new type of collector raid. Its a base that is untouched for a long period of time, not inactive mind you (defenses are still loaded). With loons' these types of raids are very profitable. Also if only looking for gold/elixir you can find storages in the higher trophy ranges that are quite exposed.

But to remain that high you need 50% wins. Its not speed farming but lazy farming

I just made it to TH10 a few week ago as well and really suffered around gold 1 and crystal 3 for loot not that it wasn't there but trying to find either easy collector raids with BAM or juicy 400/400 raids with balloonion. Since then I have pushed up further headed for masters and have had much better luck.

I started with the new AT and cannon as well as the new IT and xbow. My lab was also one of the first things on my list because those lvl 6 minions are awesome. My new drill is lvl 4 and just started that annoying 6 day spell factory upgrade. Going for 6 days with only 4 spells is gonna be hell.

TH10 hasn't been anywhere near as bad as everyone made it out to seem, but gone are the days of TH9 hiding in gold 2&3 picking on TH8s and you'de be a fool to think it would still work.

Oh yeah, I get that. I plan on getting back to there. Just need infernos first. The loot gain may be better but the loss may be greater too.
