I too am planing to push to masters when I somewhat max my th7 so I'm really curious. What strategy did you use before sniping the last 100? How long did it take? How much resources did you have when you started?

I barched all the way to mid Crystal II and then had to add a couple of dragons to take on the better upgraded 8s --- castle was always loaded with archers, 3 lightning spells AND (this was the key for me) the BK with ability level 1. I had to "buy" that BK. I'm an old dude and not as quick as some of the younger folks so I needed a simple army that I didn't have to think about --- just let her run. Obviously, knowing the right village to attack or not is key. The higher you go the tougher the towns so to help me I created a little ditty:

Guns of gold, best to hold
    Guns of black, don't attack
Disco towers, will ruin your day
    Three X-bows, best turn away
Red town halls are not your deal
Unless they are looking for a shield

And, to me, the most important --- when going against 8s and above don't attack unless the trophy diff is within 5 or to your advantage. This helped reduce the amount of cup losses on revenge.

Sorry, forgot a couple of your Qs --- when I decided to give it a try I filled my storages to 2mil and it took me about week to go from Crystal III to the 2600 playing between 10-14 hours or so a day. Sounds like a lot of online time but it takes 1&1/2 hours to build this army if you use all 3 lightnings. My order of attack was simple --- a line of barbs followed by a line of archers round and around the town. If that didn't get the 50% then unleash the BK and hit the fist. If that didn't get it then isolate an AD hit it with 3 lightnings and release a dragon and if the dragon runs into a line of air-bombs release the 2nd dragon on the same path. This approached never failed to get at least 1 star.

Patience and persistence ---- Town choice is the key....most 8s following the routine of defenses inside and non-defenses as outside buffer wind up with 50% on the outside. A quick look and if you see non-defensive bldgs inside hit the next button. 9s are a bit different --- if it is maxed out on the number of bldgs in total and the standard routine is followed it will have LESS than 50% outside --- hit the next button. If it doesn't feel right --- hit the next button.

I took th7 to masters 3 with hogs/dragons. had to settle for a lot of 1 stars. any th sniping that occured always had like ten hidden teslas around it. and the bk aq seemed to come out of nowhere.

It can be done mate I did it when I was th7 ^^ a little advice would be using cheap fast armies like BARCH and BAM till atleast 2500 (I used it all the way to 2602) and then if you really get irritated drag raid the rest of the way up ^^ Good luck its quite an effort but well worth it
    Clash of Clans:
    Level 103, TH9, 25/250 legos, 225/250 skull walls, BK lvl 10, AQ lvl 10
    Boom Beach:
Level 44, Head Quarter level 17
