I've seen a few talks about this as to whether it can or cannot be done --- I believe it can. I just broke into Crystal I and the village that put me over was a TH6 at CryII. I can't put up a pic but the fella is "tono of clan New Galaxy". I think it's amazing that he did that.
Any how...the going is getting very tough --- not many 8s or low developed 9s at this trophy level --- mostly 10s and the rare TH out for a shield.

Good luck, but it really gets insane at 2500+. You have to stay on at least 4 hours. Try to gain at least 50 cups before you log off every time. I have gone up to 2543. but the going got really tough, and I had neither time nor money to supplant that cup level. Kudos and good luck to you!

Thanks --- I'm an old retired duffer that had the misfortune of my grandson getting me obsessed on this game in Jan. I had to give up golf a couple of years back and this has taken its place. I used to have my TH outside when I was a TH9 around 2500-2600 trophies. I got TH sniped a lot, and saw plenty of people sniping TH to get to masters; a few were TH7 and a couple were TH6, they all got there eventually even if the last few trophies sometimes took a day or two. If anything, I see even more exposed TH in Masters 3 now (I am now TH10, farming in M3 for the last few weeks).
So it's definitely possible, even for TH6. Just be aware that a few people will be like I was... they will keep trying to revenge you, and laugh hard when they 3-star you for around 46 cups...
Patience id definitely the key. Just a little note from personal experience: never get frustrating and only attack the bases you are 100% confident that you can beat. When I pushed (finished at 2517 for th7), i was at 2516 and got so frustrated, I dropped to 2300 in like 10 minutes. It took another 2 days to get back to 2517 were I ultimately stopped because it was affecting my real life too much. So, good luck and remember, keep calm, and clash on!

It happened a few times when I started this push but since I set a rule for myself to only attack players with similar number of cups the revenges have lessened or at least the loss on those revenges have. An iron clad rule for me is don't attack any player where the trophy disparity (gain/loss) is greater than 5 --- and that includes snipes. At CryIII & to some degree II I was 1 starring a bunch of 8s where they would gain 30 on a loss and I would gain 17 or so IF I 3 starred 'em. They would just come back on revenge and the cup count would go negative.
But, it has really slowed down since I've hit CryI --- my troops, though maxed for a 7, just don't stand up against those big defenses.
WELL!!! Got-her-done. Hit 2600 exactly at about 1:30AM PAC time. I hafta admit it's a little bittersweet --- the last 80 to 100 cups was more from the sniping variety than an attack on the village. It wasn't that it was all I was looking for it's simply a case that from 2500 up the villages that a TH7 can 1 star is rare. But, on a positive note, at the end when I needed 4 cups for the 2600 another TH7 popped up (a tough one at that) and I as able to 1 star for the finale.
BTW, I'm so sick of seeing those red town halls filling the middle of my screen I may never upgrade to a 10.
