A company has an obligation (a legal obligation) to its shareholders to make money. Deal with it.
If they thought they could make more money as a $0.99 game, I think that's what they would have done.

If you don't like how Clash of Clans works, don't play it. Pretty simple, no one is making you.

Anyway, I live the game and no one is forcing me to pay.

The only thing ticking me off is the nerfed loot. That, I'll call them greedy for. Bad loot equals more gems for them.

I'm all for them being millionaires. But changing the game this far into it to get even more money..... Pssssh. Oh no, they might not be able to buy thier fourth beach house. River. I'll cry one.

The true definition of freemium is that the game is free but some in app features cost money. CoC differs in that there is nothing in the game that you have to use real money to purchase.

By almost I can only think of #1 spot as unobtainable without a monetary investment, but that is driven by the players and not design.

I agree. However that slightly covers what I brought up. Advanced features being boosting/gemming. Freemium was originally coined to describe shareware. It has taken on a separate meaning when applied to gaming as it is synonymous with free2play.

Also if you look at the words roots, free and premium it becomes easier to define as freemium as you can purchase a premium experience but are not required as it can be obtained for free.

The build times and costs of gold and elixir should be halved. It would still be hard to get some upgrades (600K instead of 1.2 mil for th7 for example- 600K is quite hard to get for a th6) and it wouldn't take 2 weeks to get th10

If 600k is hard for you to get, you should quit now, before you see the requirements ahead!

I must have missed when supercell formed as a non-profit charitable organization and not a corporation And how arrogant of the OP to suggest they run their business in a less profitable manner...to do what? help him out? Their primary duty is to their shareholders/investors....don't like their business model? Feel free to go play another game

This game is definitely better than a lot of other games in the genre. You can get everything for free, and really nothing at all requires gems except a couple decorations. I appreciate the CoC model.
