Yes that is the point of the game, and I'm not saying that changes in any way.
what I am saying is that as an attacker, you don't want to make others more self aware of how much resources they are holding in their storages. You want them to collect a ton or resources, forget to dump it into upgrades, log off for a bit so that you can find their base in matchmaking and steal their resources.
Yes abandoned bases will always be around, but you know what's even better? Having the choice to raid a profitable abandoned base AS WELL AS the choice to raid a profitable base with tons or resources in its collectors.
Basically, I want MORE choices of bases to attack and gain a lot of resources, not LESS.
Implementing this feature will create less profitable bases to raid. This will create more 'next' clicks. More frustration for farmers, more gold lost from the game economy, worse gaming experience overall, especially to those who have boosted barracks/spells/heroes and are wasting that boost time clicking next!

Is it really that difficult to calculate 20% of your loot in your head?
Say you log out with 759305 gold and 593750 elixir. Its easy - move the decimal 1 place left for 10%:
75930 gold and 59375 elixir for 2 lvls above
Then double those values for 20%
~152000 gold and ~120000 elixir for same or lower level
Boom. 2 seconds, you easily know how much if someone equal or below attacks you, and someone 2 lvls above attacks you. If you're worried about someone 3 lvls above you, just halve the 10% values:
~38000 gold and ~30000 elixir for 3 lvls above
The loot for 1 lvl above is a bit tougher to get exact (but still really kinda easy) but I usually just assume it is close enough to the 20% number. Just subtract 10000 from the 20% number for every 100000 of available loot at 20% if you have to:
~137000 gold and ~108000 elixir for 1 lvl above
Simple maths guys. Divide by 10, multiply/divide by 2, maybe some subtraction, tells you everything you need. Why add a new feature in the game for something that can be figured out in 2 seconds by anyone with a grade school math education? Not trying to be condescending here (I know plenty of people who have trouble calculating 15% tips on a restaurant bill and its basically the same kind of math tricks as used here), just don't really see the need for this feature.
