    Exclamation A huge problem with the game! A must read, this must be stopped!

    This is my first forum post so forgive me if this post is in the wrong sub-category but this is truly the only place that I felt I could put this post and receive sufficient views and replies, the other sub categories seem rather inactive.

    In this post I will be discussing the madcap 'Hog strategy', a complete and utter game killer that ruins the fairness and legit nature of this game.

    I am a Town Hall 9 lvl 95, who has been playing this game for over a year and so far I have enjoyed it, but the introduction of the over powered Hog strategy is RUINING the game for me as I'm sure it is for a lot of you too. A simple 32 Hog army can flatten any town hall 9 within seconds with little to no skill employed by the attacker. Utter madness if you ask me. Not only is your hard earned loot being stolen in multiplayer battles BUT the Hog riders ALSO ruin clan wars too! You would think approaching the game that the best clan would win the clan war, well I will tell you now this is most definitely NOT the case. In fact it is quite the opposite, who wins the clan war comes down to which team has the highest leveled Hogs and is prepared to use them as they are a guarantied three star raid even by low skilled players.

    This must be dealt with by supercell because the previous downgrades given to the Hog Riders are obviously not enough as they are still a three star army every time.

    I am sure this post has been created dozens of times before, however I think this should be it, no more over powered Hog Riders. The solutions I have found regarding the issue are displayed below, however note, these issues were not just thought by me but are ones I have found on online databases and youtube videos.



    • Firstly, the Hog Rider could possibly be made to not be affected by heal spells. This sounds simple enough, yes they still would probably be the go-to troop, however without heal spells it would either require more luck or skill my the attacker to three star a base.
    • Secondly, the hog rider could be made to attack everything again, not just defenses. I believe this was the reason they were made more powerful in the first place as they seemed almost useless, but nevertheless this would be a solution to prevent the easy three star raid.
    • Thirdly, the Hog rider could be made to do a lot less damage OR move slower. This would make them easier to be destroyed and if they were so slow people wouldn't use an all Hog army as there would not be enough time to clear the base up before the three minute time limit runs out.
    • The fourth and probably most controversial option would be to remove them all together, this is one I am not in favor of, but it would solve the issue.


    The above solutions obviously not the only ones, however I think they are all valid and I thought they should be mentioned. If you have any other ideas of how they could be made less effective please post them down below.

    I am sure this post will attract negative and positive feedback and ideologies to making the Hog Riders weaker, but I am sure that the majority of people WILL agree with me on this one.

    You made some interesting points, and I'll do my best to answer them in a civil manner, even if I don't agree with the sentiment.
    I'm a th9 myself, and I can most definitely say that hogs are not a definite three star on any th9, even with the best hoggers. Moreover, anti-hog bases are prolific, and I use one myself (trophy ringus, look it up). With that base, even pretty good hoggers have failed to even manage one star with hogs, as the dual giant bombs + wizard tower is enough to one shot them.
    Finally, I've used hogs myself, and while they are definitely easier to use than other trophy armies, there is still considerable room for error. In my first attack, my hogs went on a merry go round whilst xbows/testlas had a field day.
    (Disclaimer: I've only used hogs a few times so I do realise this could have just been my own ineptitude)

    Not trying to be rude, just showing the other side of the argument.

    level 3/4 dragons ravishing a th8/9 are op
    ballonions burning th8s 9s down are op
    gowiwi / gowipe wandering through your ruins are also op
    attacking TH10s with infernos is not possible for a th9 cause ITs are to op
    level 40 heroes doing a picnic in your base are to op
    Seeking airmines costing nowadays gold instead of dark elixir killing your healers are op too
    lightning spells zapping your DE-Storage are unfair and OP

    so: get used to it and adjust your base to counter hogs... Or take a break and play a round of HayDay...

    Learn to play, hogs are easily neutralized by a defense

    Hogs didnt ruin the game, it's the exact opposite.
    It brought diversity in game strats, it brought a second breath to base designing, it's the best single troop update we got since realease.

    For one thing, i DO think hogs are OP, but i wouldnt change that it has brought major strategy and plus, it really only works with lvl4+ hogs and lvl4+ heal spells. Some guy in my clan war attacked me with the hog strategy...but with lvl 1 hogs... Not even 40%

    Hogs have been nerfed 3 times... An anti-hog base is VERY effective at stopping hogs, however, if you refuse to show your base then we cannot give you advice on your design...
