TH8 Upgrade Log & Is upgrading tesla worth it?

The main two purpose of this thread is for you guys to see my upgrade logs and IS hidden tesla worth upgrading despite the cost and the massive upgrade time.

By upgrade log, I mean; I shall put up a table saying what what each levels are and how long the next upgrade will talk.

Some people will say what the hell is the point of all this, I really don't know. I doubt this is going to be helpful to people, but I really like to put up a log and see how I've been going. And you wonderful people can criticise me and make fun of me all you want, but please do give me some tips at the end.

Part 1:

"IS UPGRADING THE HIDDEN TESLA WORTH IT?"

I'm asking you guys this because. Just from level 1 to level 2, it takes 1.25 MIL gold and 4 days to upgrade. The upgrade cost really doesn't seem to much, but the upgrade time is huge for just from 1 to 2.

Post what you feel about hidden tesla and whether I should. Maybe Part 2 will help u deciding whether I should or not.

As you can see, i've done most of my troop upgrades and my spells are a VERY low level for th8. I was going to do them after most of my troop upgrades, but after clan wars came out, i really want to get level 5 balloons and use the balloon minion strategy. I don't use barbs very much but i'll be getting them to level 5 because of the sick look :P

When i start DE farming, I will upgrade my DE drill to level 3. Army camp and barracks aren't really crucial to me right now. Troop and Spell upgrades are my first prioritised elixir upgrades right now.


Dark Elixir:
Not much, just my barbarian king being upgraded to level 3. Level 1 Minions and Hogs.

To Do List: (Only the next 3 upgrades on the road)

Gold:
- Teslas to level 3
- 3 (min) archer tower to level 9.
- Air defence to level 3

Elixir:
- Heal Spell to level 4
- Rage Spell to level 4
- Barbarian to level 5

So comment below telling what I should upgrade next and how I should be prioritising my upgrades. I will post below a log, that will keep me updated on what upgrade has been started and what has been finished. 1. If i find any raids with huge amounts. I'll post it here to make the thread a little more interesting :P 2. If you want, post your base screenshots so we can "extract" knowledge from it for strategical placement of teslas. If lots of people like it, i will add it to the OP thread with acknowledgement of the owner.

My Simpleton answer: I can raid up to 2.5 million gold per day early in theschoolyear, down to 2.0 million. Teslas and elixir upgrades I save for when I don't have enough gold. They are my... safety trampolines.

max yout teslas as soon as you can, they become very strong in their higher levels.

I'm currently upgrading my Mortars to Lv6 and my Wizard Towers to Lv4 (One of them are currently Lv4). I'm probably gonna focus on Teslas now that people mention it. Gonna keep at it until they're maxed. And focus on Walls while I wait. I really want those lv7 walls.

Wasn't able to raid much today because of war. Been too focused on war since it's a very close one, and my clan has used 2 more attacks than the other clan.

3 starred both of my attacks and on a loot bonus of 370k each, so this should help me with the tesla upgrade and spell upgrades (If we win). Right now, 43 - 40 and 27 attacks used by my clan and 25 attacks used by theirs.

Let's hope someone sacrifices their loot to get use those low levels who have only been 2 starred.

Was only able to do 3 or 4 raids today and this was a freebie and usually don't use that much troops, but i just went all out since it was going to be my last raid because my clanmates wanted me to attack and get us that lead.

Well i dont think teslas really worth the wait at town hall 8 if you have max troops/max walls. Im personally probably going to max my walls and all max all my troops that i use and go to TH9 regardless that my teslas only lvl 1

TH 8 farming I have been in the Silver I and Gold III range. I went up to Gold I but the bases were in my opinion, not worth raiding yet until I get most of my troops to lvl 5 than just archers.

tesla seems to be a a good def... at lvl 4 they can kill archer lvl4 with one hit (doing about 1,5 atk per second, that can be really helpfull) and at lvl 6 they can take out arch lvl 5-6 with one hit too

so i think the more they are upgraded, the best they become, i've read somewhere here that it was your best defense on th8, doing a lot of dmg/sec

for the rest, as mentionned, cc should be a first choice too

your mortar are doing great and so are your upgrade

i just hit th8 last week and was maxed from th7 but still lot of things to do, i think you are in a good path

Well so far, you are the only person that has opposed the idea of upgrading teslas.
Let me tell you a story, dont worry, its short. I thought of the same thing as you did, until..

I was attacking a guy, 49%. 4 level 5 archers left, guess what takes me down. His level 6 tesla. 1 shot each and it was over. And i'm like, "♥♥♥, i just did not see that coming!"

After that attack, it completely changed the way/view of tesla's. Like some guy said in the comments, it's pretty much like a mini xbow with short range.
