TH8 Upgrade Log & Is upgrading tesla worth it?

I never said upgrading teslas put my base at risk. I was just asking whether it was worth it for the time it takes to upgrade for just 1 level.

Update: #1 Archer tower finished to level 9.

Never said you did mate. I often see people discuss defenses being "down" while upgrading, as if it is some huge issue. My point is that short term thinking like that can cripple your base long term. I went a week with all ADs upgrading and....nothing happened.

Yeah ahaha me too! All 3 AD upgrading at one point. Lost a few air defences, but not much loot taken anyway.

Update:

Clan war starting in a few hours. So going to be making my last raid for today.

- #1 Hidden Tesla upgrade to level 4 started.

Next in line will be the Clan Castle. Exams are in a few days, and my post activity will be low. But I'll keep the update log going.

hahah thanks and yeah i need to lower my playing time on clash for a while now. So i have been using army troops that take a long time to train.

Upgrade log updated. DE Drill done, Archer tower done. Clan castle upgrade started.
Next, i'll be giving defences a break since I think it's a good enough defence level at around 1400 trophies. Could you guys give any opinion on it? You can check my defence levels on the first page. I'll be getting my walls up because, I'm gonna have to do that some day anyway.

CC is a must for clan wars. If your only using de for upgrades which is what I do then you only need to farm de to top off what the drill produces. But as a th8 you cannot stop a determined attacker from stealing your de and as soon as you have 18-20k stored the you will get rolled on a daily basis. I only farm de when my drill and casual raiding gets me to 18k. Are you still using the shuriken 2 base? I was using this up to clan wars started and it's a solid base. When clan wars came in I found it too time consuming to switch between the trophy and farming variants. I eventually came up with a modified design which retains the vault and inner layer from orz's design.

Yeah 1 more day till CC upgrade is finished. Right now, my exams will begin in 4 days and in just abt 5 days from then, all my exams will be over. I will have a week holidays from then. I'm aiming to boost my drill, barracks to get to 20k DE. Right now, i'm gold farming and If i get DE, thats a bonus. I was using the shuriken base for a while until I started losing a lot of defences even from lower levels. it didnt stand up to barch attacks because the traps are a main part of this base and 1 or 2 archers set these off. I use that base in CW and never been 3 starred even from higher levels so far. Don't need to make variation bases now that we have the war base update. I'm using Avernicus's HDT Base farming design. It's been doing well so far.

Update: Inner Core purple wall ALMOST done. Just 3 or 4 more to go.

quick update:

archer tower done. close to 30 walls got to level 7. saving up for last wizard tower to be upgraded to level 5. 5 more days for 1st hidden tesla to level 4. heal spell to level 5 started.

Been busy with exams, so no time to post really.

Soooo, CC updated (25 troops now), Air defences going to level 3, Last wizard tower going to level 5. Next elixir upgrade would be the barbarians.

Been away for 10 days, below pic is my update for TH8:
1) 2nd tesla finished level 6
2) 3rd tesla just started level 6 yesterday (11D 4H to go )
3) 3rd WT finished level 6
4) 1st AT just start upgrade to level 10 today (top right 4D 23H)
5) 2x cannon upgrading to level 9.
6) King upgraded from 6 to 7.

If you notice, my 3rd AD is still untouched.
