Gain gems everytime you level up!
lvl 1 = 1 gem
lvl2 = 2 gems
lvl 25 = 25 gems
lvl 150= 150 gems ect.

There was another thread on this recently, short answer is no...
Really not needed. Also I think your gem gain is a bit much when i look at the gem gains for achievements.
Started the game in January and three days later became a member of Zombie brains, the only clan I ever been in. Town hall eight since April 16th.
Wars won, 86. War hero,543 stars
Don't speed upgrade your town hall, being a level nine or ten does not help you if you have gold walls or lower.
