It blows my mind how much importance people place on donation count.

What benefit you will see by donating highest war troops? How about a victory for your friggin clan!!!!!

If that's not enough for you, if you need individual recognition, that's pretty pathetic in my book. I'm glad our clan doesn't care about it, we do fine, only lost one war, we all know how war troops are donated, everyone pitches in and no problems. Were a full 50 member clan too. It helps our average age is 26+.

Another one who ignores the whole point of this idea... Think about it, just for while. We all know people donate War CC's to help the clan win. However, don't you think the ones donating maxed out troops, spending lots and lots of dark elixir and elixir deserve at least a little recognition? So that the leader and co-leaders can find out who actually helps out the clan considering further promotions and such alike?

If you think I made this thread just to care about some donation numbers, think again...

    HAHA What? LOL
This is quite possibly the funniest thing I've read on here all year.
I'm leader of a 50 member clan. 45 of us have been together for a year or more. But once in a while we allow new ppl to join. Who's accountable when someone sends giants or as a troll wbs or gobs? It falls back on the Co and Leader.
Not counting these donation numbers helps prevent anyone from going onto the war map to donate. There's no gain for them.
The only possible solution would be to allow ppl to dump their war CC. Then you could allow donation numbers to count.
Better yet if it showed who donated. Personally I think war map donations should only be allowed by a Leader and Co.

Your donations as a clan must really suck if you need the war map numbers to count.

You don't know what you don't know!!!

No I got exactly the point of this post, I just disagree with you completely, which I thought was evident by my post.

Deserve recognition? By having a number at a donation count? That's what matter to you more than the clans actual win.

If all your leader has to go with is a number on the donation column to either promote someone or not, you're clan has more problems then not being able to count war troop donations....

Our wars are on schedule. I make full dragon army to donate 10 dragons as soon as war prep starts. I don't care that my count doesn't go up by 200, nor do I care if I ever get recognition, winning the war is enough gratification for me.

Exactly. I don't want just anyone to donate for war troops, we want maxed troops in those cc.

Motivating everyone to donate is not necessary and I promise if this is ever implemented, the next complaint is everyone's donating ♥♥♥♥ troops to boost donation count. Its fine the way it is, and if you don't have a clan that has restraint or ability to think before they act, maybe its time to find new members or a new clan. The only time we had ♥♥♥♥ troops was the first war. After it was established that we only donate lvl 3+ dragons, only lvl 3+ dragons ever made it into the war cc, minus the excess or those that couldn't hold dragons.

Noobs/trolls in your clan donating whatever they please

Many of you have stated that you have noobs in your clan who donate whatever they please just to get a higher donation number. Obviously you cannot control your clan with these players, so the easy solution is to simply show who donated and what.

    Problem solved.

Now can we move on from this argument?

What you did in this post:
An ad hominem (Latin for "to the man" or "to the person"[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument.[2] Fallacious Ad hominem reasoning is normally categorized as an informal fallacy,[3][4][5] more precisely as a genetic fallacy,[6] a subcategory of fallacies of irrelevance.[7] Ad hominem reasoning is not always fallacious, for example, when it relates to the credibility of statements of fact.
Ad hominem arguments are the converse of appeals to authority, and may be used in response to such appeals.
Ad hominem as it is discussed in this article refers to the logical fallacy argumentum ad hominem, and not to the literal Latin phrase ad hominem.

The straw man fallacy occurs in the following pattern of argument:

    1. Person 1 has position X.
    2. Person 2 disregards certain key points of X and instead presents the superficially similar position Y. The position Y is a distorted version of X and can be set up in several ways, including:
      1. Presenting a misrepresentation of the opponent's position.
      2. Quoting an opponent's words out of context—i.e., choosing quotations that misrepresent the opponent's actual intentions (see fallacy of quoting out of context).[4]
      3. Presenting someone who defends a position poorly as the defender, then denying that person's arguments—thus giving the appearance that every upholder of that position (and thus the position itself) has been defeated.[3]
      4. Inventing a fictitious persona with actions or beliefs which are then criticized, implying that the person represents a group of whom the speaker is critical.
      5. Oversimplifying an opponent's argument, then attacking this oversimplified version.

    3. Person 2 attacks position Y, concluding that X is false/incorrect/flawed.

This reasoning is fallacious because attacking a distorted version of a position does not address the actual position. The ostensible argument that Person 2 makes has the form:
"Don't support X, because X has an unacceptable (or absurd or contradictory or terrible) consequence." However, the actual form of the argument is:
"Don't support X, because Y has an unacceptable (or absurd or contradictory or terrible) consequence." This argument doesn't make sense; it is a non sequitur. Person 2 relies on the audience not noticing this.
Could be a starwman too, I am a bit torn what fallacy was used for that quote but ya, ultimately it is irrelevant to what I am saying and what others are for rejecting this idea.

I am not rejecting it for the "lolz" I am rejecting it for the overall health of the game and community. You are way blind and narrow minded if you cannot see why I said:
    4. It makes ill feelings of those that can't donate because they are "not strong enough"
There is a reason for posts such as:

That could still motivate rouge donations for your WCs though, just because bigger number means a bigger war contributor. Exposure of who donated what in the WCs are another whole new request/suggestion that has been posted many times here before.
My opinion on your suggestion here is that the exposure of donators must come first before any indicator for war donations can be enabled. Another suggestion/request for the ability to dump undesired WC troops can act as an opposing factor to any indicator for war donations, meaning if we are given the ability to dump war troops, such indicators can and will be abused to bloat up the war troop donations statistics of a player.

IMHO, the best thing is to not have any indicators whatsoever for war donations and let those clans who have worked so hard to discipline their members not to fill WCs with useless for defense troops and their corresponding high leveled donators to reap their reward of victory in war. Making war donations any easier to be done correctly might render the efforts of these clans useless, and even an indicator for number of war troops donated will make their currently 'disciplined' clan members turn rouge.

Thank you, I am happy knowing there is people out there that see and likely the reason supercell did not have this out from the get go.

Please don't be blinded by self satisfaction of having a stat posted, in the end It does more harm to the game then good.

I am very shocked I got no comment to what I think is the best solution:

I still think the best solution is allowing 100% elixir/dark elixir return on what is donated on wins (80% tie, 50% loss)

No "gain" prevents my list from happening.
You want something and ignore objections, maybe you need to learn how to debate.

I can easily use the same style of auguring against you and hope you see why it goes no where:

Anyone that has a clan that needs motivation to donate defense troops are "noob" and a bad clan. Therefor this is why an indicator is not needed since a good clan will not need one to donate good troops.

"Now can we move on from this argument?"
If you stop trying to argue for a feature that will do harm with no good out of it, sure.

This is the only thing I really understand. You really do not see people making giants > release > giants> release just to pad number/ exp/ whatever this idea is trying to impose?

Started the game in January and three days later became a member of Zombie brains, the only clan I ever been in. Town hall eight since April 16th.
Wars won, 86. War hero,543 stars
Don't speed upgrade your town hall, being a level nine or ten does not help you if you have gold walls or lower.
