I barch all the time and look only for DE. All the extra gold goes into the walls. No stress and no complaining about the lack of gold or lix.
I will stay here untill both heroes are lv 30 which should take around 7 months. By that time i should also have a full lego base with a lava core. That village will look awesome!
I entered th9 with th7 upgrades, and level 6 walls. Now I've nearly maxed defences and I'm soon going to be farming skulls, and I'm not leaving town hall 9 till I'm full lego… this could mean loosing intrest before getting to th10 but I'm willing to run the risk)

I would like to hear your rationale for this thought. I am not following why DE farming at TH10 would be easier? I have access to the same Th10 and TH9 targets while also getting the benefit of TH8 targets. All this with pretty much the same troops. Sure you get more camp space but I think access to the lower level villages more than offsets that advantage.
Your point about better protection because of infernos is valid but I have been lucky enough to have minimal issues with protecting the DE.
Yeah I started TH9 like that too. Done nothing except tesla upgrades so far :/. Cant wait to be done.

3rd DE drill maxed gives you a free 2400 DE per day.
additional 20 troops give you a little more horsepower to get to deeper DE storage.
you'll be farming in Crystal III or above which has a lot more DE available vs. Gold I/II which has less overall.
There's no question you can farm DE very well at TH9 and the troops are essentially the same. There is a loot penalty at TH10, but the majority of your DE is going to come from TH9/10 anyways so the penalty is minor.
I personally feel TH10 is better for TH10 farming, but I'd never say DE farming at TH9 is bad.

I'm TH 9 and have been maxed (besides Heroes and walls) for months. Took a 6 month break from the game, and came back for clan wars. Now I'm finishing what I started. I'm going to get all lvl 9 walls with my core level 10 and level 20 heroes. My leader keeps telling me to go up to TH 10 because loot isn't bad. I have no doubt it's not bad, but I know farming isn't efficient there. I can make anywhere from 1m (2m boosted) an hour consistently. I have no problem staying tbh, but to other, they want to go to TH10 as soon as possible because walls aren't worth it to them. All about personal preference.
I plan on it. Or at least doing all level 9s and maybe (just maybe) some level 10 walls.

I'm on TH9 and will stay there for awhile... Got nearly all defenses maxed, only 5 archer-towers and a few single bombs are missing... Heroes, Valkyrie and Golem could also use a bit of more love as all other troops are maxed for TH9.... Already got my skull-walls at TH8... Will stay on TH9 till I have at least complete Lego-walls, maybe Lavas... No rush for me heading to TH10, cause think that loot is worse on TH9, but much more worse on TH10....
