Trap: Gravity Bomb, the bigger they are, the harder they fall!

The mystery of "why does the apple fall from the tree" is finally revealed! And in a short time, wizards of the clans have found a way to manipulate this force and, of course, use it as a weapon against the enemy.

The gravity bomb produces a surge of unbearable gravitational pull in a small area. Troops caught in the gravity field will lose a percentage of their maximum hitpoints.

The gravity bomb looks like a half-buried black metal sphere with a small rod/antenna sticking out of it. If unarmed, it looks like an empty half-sphere metal shell.

The gravity surge will have an animation of a dark swirling circle, similar to a black hole.

At level 2 and 3, the bomb will have multiple antennas with electric sparks.

    Statistics

    Trap size: 2x2 tiles

Availability: 1 Grav bomb is unlocked at TH9, another one at TH 10. Level 2 is available at TH9, level 3 upgrade at TH10.

Damage: 10%; 20%; 25% of maximum hitpoints. If a troop have less hitpoints left than the percentage of damage cause by the grav bomb, it will be killed by the gravity surge. Imagine getting hit by 30 times your own weight for an instant.

Trigger radius: 2 tiles, air and ground targets.

    Gravity field area: 3.0; 3.5; 4.0 tiles

Placing and upgrading costs: 1 mil; 3 mil; 7 mil gold

Upgrading time: 4 days; 8 days

    Rearming cost: 20k; 25k; 30k gold

Special: All ground troops will get pulled in when affected by the gravity field, similar to tier 1 troops got pushed back a little when cought by a bomb or mortar blast. The difference is they will be pulled slightly toward the center of the bomb. This will include heroes and large troops such as golems and pekkas.
Flying troops will become immobile after being damaged by the gravity field for 1.0; 1.5; 2.0 seconds and renders them vulnerable to ground only defenses such as cannons, mortars and giant bombs for the entire duration of immobility. A grounded flying troop can trigger a spring trap but will not be affected by it.

Comments: The idea of the trap is to do significant damage to high-hitpoints troops such as golems and heroes. It is especially devastating to dragons as dragons have high hitpoints and is a flying troop. Troops with small amount of HP will not take much damage from the Grav Bomb, but the 'pull in' effect can pull them closer together for a splash defense to finish them off.

Thank you for the positive responses guys! I've re-read my OP, and was thinking... Could it be a bit overpowered? Since it would damage flying troops AND making them vulnerable to ground targeting defenses?

    Nice idea!

It should also slow down the troops it affected for a certain duration, it would be caused by the intense gravity

Nice tought! But the idea is for a bomb that generates and instant of massive gravity pull, and troops would get pulled in and down during that instant, unable to attack or move and gets damaged based on their mass. After that instant, surviving troops would pick themselves up and continue their rampage.

Now if only that it's a Gravity Field Generator... (Defensive structure, damages and slows down all troops within its field radius)...

Thanks for the response and tought.

    Almost! May I tweak?

It sounds like a great idea but a little over powered! Having two in one place could potential end a raid as soon as it starts. Maybe instead of pulling them closer, they have to "fight against the force of gravity" meaning they get get decreased speed and hit points for a certain amount of time before effects wear off? Bring air troops to the ground would probably ruin any air troop raid, making air troops useless (I.e. Packs of balloons or minions getting hammered by both wizard towers AND mortars.) Hope to see this in the game!

First of all thank you for the positive feedback and some interesting ideas on how to improve the gravity bomb.

On being a potential to end raids almost as soon as it starts, IMO, the currently available giant bombs have a better chance to do that to a raid. A pair of maxed or near maxed giant bombs have thwarted mass hogs raids as soon as it began many times just from my experience from shared replays and attacks on my village (I use pairs of giant bombs in between defenses and some of my clannies too). And we could make TWO pairs of those! They could also stop cold a raid of mass tier one, mass wizards or any troop with less than 200 hitpoints when they clump up together and ate the bomb.

On the other hand, say, a player decided to put 2 maxed grav bomb together and a horde of hog riders triggers it. The hogs would only take 50% hitpoints damage and thats even less than a single maxed giant bomb. If 100 barbarians triggers it, it would only leave behind 100 injured barbarians while a giant bomb would stop the 100 dead in their tracks. Hope this could explain why the percentage damage is not as overpowered as a fixed number of damage.

The pulling effect is not so great as to bring all affected troops into one tight clump, its merely suggested to pull in any ground troops for maybe half a tile, similar to tier one troops getting pushed back by a mortar/bomb blast.

On the tweak you suggested, with all considerations, are not merely a tweak. Its going to completely change the concept of a bomb with instantaneous one time damage and effects into a device that produces lingering gravitational increase to a small area with damage over time and slowing effects.
Thus if I wanted to change the duration of 'instant' to 'over a period of time', a completely different gravity based trap thats produces a lingering gravity field that damages 4% hitpoints per second and slows movement and attack speed by 20% to all troops within the field and the gravity field lasts for 5 seconds is what I can come up with. A pretty cool idea for a gravity trap...

On flying troops getting grounded by the bomb, my intention was for it to do what you said, a group of baloons/minions getting hammered by mortars, cannons and even giant bombs. I'm concerned what this might do to dragons though.
As we know, flying comps such as Baloonions and variations of it are pretty cheap, quick to train and is very powerful in the right hands, almost if not more powerful than a full dragon raid which is very expensive and time consuming to train.

Again, thank you for your positive response on this, perhaps I might even put another different gravity-based trap/defensive building idea based on some responses here.

    Lightbulb Nice Idea!

Great idea, detailed and very well explained hope Supercell releases an update with the gravity bomb included!
