I need a few tips on upgrading / getting resorses.

    I'm new to the forums.
I have level 5 town hall.
I feel like I'm at a point right now where I can't get too far.

Any tips from some of you guys?
I know, I've googled some awesome bases, and I don't know how you could of gotten there.

Help, is what I need. Please.
Any bit of information will help.

BAG (barbs, archs, gobs) with a barb-arch-gob ration of 2:1:1. It is a great farming army. For a base design, throw your town hall, collectors, barracks, builder huts, lab, spell factory out of your walls (basically you should only have storages and defenses in your walls). Then you can make compartments. Keep your splash defenses (mortars and wizard towers) towards the middle along with air defenses. Keep cannons and archer towers right behind the walls, then storages, then splash and air. If you have enough walls to make compartments, do them around the splash. For upgrading, upgrade splash first, then stuff in lab, then barracks, then point defenses (cans and ATs). Do storages last. Make sure everything is maxed, then upgrade your town hall.

I'm using the old rolleyes emoji. I'm happy they added more but... I will always roll my eyes using the emoji that is now called "smirk"

    Wink

you will know this game isn't for 'normal human being' when you get to town hall 8

5 is fine, half barbarian half archer + 2-4 wall breakers and healing spells if you have

then simply throw them all out at once, barb first taking the damage for archers and archers follow behind

    keep your league between 700-1200
yes, never upgrade townhall to next level unless all your defenses are maxed at the highest level for your current townhall

Base design for level five is also pretty simple.

Air defense wise you only really need one semi-well protected and anyone looking for a giant healer base to attack will skip yours. If its an all drag attack you are screwed either way.

Mortars and wiz towers are incredibly important. As TH5 the most common troops you are gonna see are barbs arch and giants, maybe a few goblins and healers too. Well protected splash defense is gonna make you stand a fighting chance against most barch, bam, and bag attacks.

To kill giants well placed spring traps, single target towers whose areas of attack overlap help a lot.

Try and max your walls for your level, I forget what level you can get for TH5 but down there they are really not very expensive and totally worth it. Most low level players have NO IDEA how to use wallbreakers so high level walls are gonna be a huge advantage as troops are likely gonna end up having to hit them down. Also high level walls look very intimidating and discourage lots of attacks.

When protecting storage DO NOT just put them in a big box in the middle, spread them out a bit. Big box in the middle means someone sends a few gaints to distract, some wallbreakers, breaks into your center compartment then spams goblins and all you loot is gone. Try to compartmentalize your storages even think about maybe not putting them all in the direct center.

Other than those brief guidelines your base can be whatever you want and still be effective. Most players your level don't really know what they are doing when they attack. Do keep in mind that if someone totally destroys you it often is not your base. A TH7 will 3 star you any day, not because your design is bad but simply because they have much more powerful troops than you have defenses.
