Update for tom please!:)

When I hire Tom, if I can play every time Tom is ready to get a new item, I think I can use Tom every 2 hours for a total of like 15 hours. So I get to send Tom to get an item about 7 times once he is hired. Instead of having Tom for only an amount of time why can't we have Tom hired for an amount of trips?. So if Tom is hired I can send him on 7 or maybe a few more trips instead of having to log in every 2 hours to send Tom on an errand .
My reason is I can't always log in to play ever 2 hours in that 15 hour time frame, so I spend 15 diamonds but only get to actually use Tom like 4 times
It would be great to be able to hire Tom at 15 diamonds for 10 trips

His cool down period (the 2 hours between trips) is a factor for his price. Be prepared for a price increase should his mechanics change.

Here's my idea-instead of hiring Tom for a certain amount of time, let us hire him by the task-maybe 5 diamonds for each run, if you don't like what he has found it will cost 5 more diamonds to send him again...

Seems this game is time based. Cows are ready to be milked, feed is produced, cakes are baked, boats arrive, all after a certain amount of time.

I agree the game is time based, and I totally get why they have the cool down period, and I get that the more a player is on the more benefit BUT it seems like it would be in SC's interest to encourage use of Tom, particularly for those of us that aren't on during the day. Personally, I would hire Tom if I could get his services for X number of runs in X number of days, even with a cool down period. Since I just play in the evening (and maintain my farm briefly before work), it's not worthwhile for me to hire him. Anyway, just my two cents, I can see other's people's opinions.

I hear ya. I save & save diamonds and choose my time to use his services wisely. I make sure that it is a quiet weekend or a relaxing day off so I can pop in & out to get my diamonds worth
