Why max collectors when you have builders running 24/7?

Yeah, I understand the loot increase for 1 gem boosts and what I'm missing. But why would you want to waste building time on collectors? My logic is as follows: don't max collectors if you can keep your builders busy 24/7 on other important things (e.g. defenses). Although, I do think it would be wise to max DE drills for maximum DE production as it is a rare resource.*However, if you're pushing, I think it'd be a good idea to max your collectors. For me, I'm a farmer and don't push for trophies.*

No reason! Thanks! My builders used to not be active, and neither was I, at th7, so I maxed them. Fail. Look at this guy. He is the epitome of good and reasonable clashing. THe thought of maxing his collectors and mines does not even cross his mind due to his activity!

    Let's give a hand!

Haha, maybe, but I leave 2-3 defenses and a few walls to do while my TH upgrades.

If you're going to suggest not upgrading them, the obvious extension is to never build them at all.

I have had 8 months of L11 mines, or very close to it. (now TH9)
If they were L10 mines instead I would have had 500 less gold per hour, that's 500 (gold) x6 (mines) x24 (hours) x182(days) = 17.5M gold.

You don't want 15M gold? (I am assuming you lose some to raids)
That's entirely your business of course, but it makes good sense to me.

You do bring up a good point, but I do upgrade my collectors to a decent lvl that takes a day or less. But, why would you need 15M gold when you can keep your builders busy? Yes, they give a profit but loot shouldn't be a problem if you're in a good range except that nowadays loot is terrible. unless I'm not speaking from experience because I haven't been to TH9 yet, but I'm assuming you can roll over maxed TH8's with lvl6 troops.

I assume you're still a lowbie. But once you went up in Town Hall level, and target searching costs 750-1000g per next, you'll want every bit of income you'll need.

And what is a couple of days wasted in upgrading collectors, compared to a lifetime of added income.

Upgrade your collectors. They negate the majority of any loss you suffer after being raided, as mentioned also some of the nexting cost, while also slowing down troops who are raiding you. Also during 1 gem boosts its an extra 500k per day.

People say inactive villages are being taken away from matchmaking causing a loot shortage. I see inactive villages all day long with crappy collectors not worth raiding, don't be that guy.
Does SC remove every inactive village? Read this thread.

At low levels where you have few builders and you are active, maxing collectors are not necessary because upgrades are cheap and you can easily get all builders 24/7 even if you are casual. Although they do make a difference (especially for DE Drills) at TH9 where the cheapest upgrades is 3.2m. I only maxed mine when I am TH9 and if you are wall farming for TH8 you also have plenty of them to max them as well. So my advice is only attempt to upgrade them whenever you have a free builder, you won't be losing much but is better than not.

The Golden Solution for all the people out there that says SC must add new stuff for low level players.
They already do. Its called : Please Upgrade your Town Hall
