Actually, i agree with this man, have you even been on global chat lately?? Like at all? Because EVERY SINGLE TIME i get on all i see is ***** you *** you and all sort of commotions and its always between children and its annoying as HELL, i dont care about global, it is absolutely NOT used for the purpose it was intended and should be regularized in some sort of way, otherwise its useless and to be honest the server power could be used for a much better purpose!

And also, for all of you out there saying oh its ok to just not give out personal info and you'll be fine is a LIE! Are you kidding me?! Children especially under the age of 18 are incredibly susceptible to everything in their environment and as i see what happens in global chat everyday which i mentioned in the post above, children will sit there and just read what people say and see how people treat eachother and how to do it. Sure maybe not all children will absorb and retain this sort of "new age tech behavior" but most will for sure! So you guys should think of the long term consequences rather than just the obvious ones such as giving out personal information.

Plenty of games in the App Store without any interaction with other humans. When the kids are old enough to move outside on their own, they are old enough to play online games.

Isn't it RECOMMENDED for above 13? Anyway, nothing wrong with this addition, won't change anything for other players. Should already be in the game actually.

Thank you, yes, I agree. The performance, server power, and bandwidth can be better used elsewhere, IMHO. This is in addition to parental concern.

You're exactly right! That is the whole point. I know my child will not necessarily engage in the public chat right away, but just reading what all the other people are saying is what I am concerned about. There is much innappropriate talk that goes on that is maybe not necessarily flag worthy but definitely not for children.

In the end what others said about "getting with the times" is correct. Having access to global is not a big deal as long as he saying nothing about personal info. This means not answering questions like age or where you live. Maybe general like saying USA? but ya keep it very vague.

As long as he understands not to talk about those things because many are out there to cause harm, there is no issue.
Are you a parent? If not, then you will understand one day when you become a parent. But yes, the ultimate responsibility is with us as parents. However, as myself and another user noted, we also believe the global chat is a waste of app performance, server performance, and bandwidth.

There is a difference between trusting your kid, and protecting him from things you think are dangerous. Plenty of times kids are unable to correctly realize the negative effects of certain actions.

I don't think GC is a waste of app performance, server performance, or bandwidth, I use it quite often, though you might not want your child to have access to it (which I agree with you to some effect) doesn't mean other people see it as useless, many of my friends and family who play use global chat very actively, and enjoy it, seeing as how good of a time saver it is while waiting for troops to finish.

Although it is hard to "define" what is inappropriate is very difficult, as many different parents have different opinions on what their (and others) children should or should not do/read/see/ect.
I can however witness that there is quite a bit of content on GC that some parents (or people in general) might/do find inappropriate.

You say you weren't influenced when you were under 18? I am very good friends with someone who works in advertising, working with people who make 7 figures a year, 7 FIGURES A YEAR!!! That is an incredible amount of money, and how do they do it? By influencing people to buy a certain product. A fun thing you can try out it, ask someone, how much on average, people are influenced by advertising, peers, school, or work, Almost 100% will say that on a 1 out of 10 scale, people are effected 9 or 10 out of 10. Then you ask them how much (once again on a 1 out of 10 scale) THEY are effected by the various outside influences (the ones listed above) and almost all of them will say they are a 2 or 3. If everybody is effected 9 or 10 out of 10, but they all say they are 2 or 3, the math doesn't work, most people don't realize when they are being influenced, every time you see a bill board, or commercial, or even a picture of a soda at a gas station, you are being influenced by them, EVERYBODY is effected quite a bit, other wise my friends would not be making nearly as much money as they are.
