It makes sense...except you'd think that it would be easier to bake 161 million cakes than fill 161 million boats. Even if you have a barn full of everything, you can only get a new boat every 4 hours. (Unless you use diamonds.) You can bake a carrot cake in a little over an hour.

During the boat events, the top contributors get together and call the boats in early. I followed one of them once just to watch. It was amazing how fast the filled the boat and got the next one in. I put in over 58 cakes on all three farms in this family. Still making more but it sure doesn't look like we will make this one. :-(

I'm still making more as well, but it's hard to monitor constantly, since I'm at work and they frown upon this kind of thing, lol.

It's not useless to reach personal goals. You get your personal rewards (vouchers) for reaching your personal goals. These personal rewards have nothing to do with the global goal reward, which you receive once the global goal is met, regardless of the status of your personal goals. (Provided you've already been qualified to take part in the global event)

But why not use diamonds to speed up the cakes? Are they only after the vouchers you got for filling boats?

i will reach all my personal goals eventualy, but no cute easter basket
