I was chatting with one of my neighbors, and she thinks the problem is the personal goals were set too low. She said she reached the final personal goal the first day, and stopped making carrot cakes.

To low?? I disagree. She must have had a lot stored up before the event started. I have been making 24/7 since start of event and I will make personal goals, but not with too much time to spare. In four days with no down time can make just 64 cakes. Never saw one one in DD during event (or any other cake)

She probably has her cake oven fully mastered and expanded. It's only 1 hour, 16 minutes if your oven is mastered.

My problem is my oven was fully expanded...and the queue was full. I never make carrot cakes usually, so I had to wait until the 9 strawberry cakes, chocolate cakes, feta cakes, cream cakes, etc. were done before I could even start with the carrot cakes. Still, I finished early Sunday morning. I did find some in the DD, though.

I think SC just missed the detail of resetting the goal amount to a more reasonable amount from the boat event --remember that 161M boats was that event goal. Once the event was working, they could not change the goal.

That makes a distressing amount of sense. One line of code not updated, and the goal set too high. There is a weirdly large gap between lots of us meeting/ beginning to exceed our final personal goals and the global goal being met. Normally by the time quite a few people have reached their final personal goals the global goal is well within reach.

Afterall, the vouchers are much more valuable.

I was certain I would meet my goal. This is my first one, but my little newbie oven was full at the start of the event. Now I think I won't make it. And I think I will be short quite a few cakes!

I slept. Silly me. And the oven could not yet be full overnight, and I think it had to be. The second night I expanded the queue with diamonds...at least it's been full of carrot cakes constantly since then.

At least I'm contributing to the global goal....

It makes sense...except you'd think that it would be easier to bake 161 million cakes than fill 161 million boats. Even if you have a barn full of everything, you can only get a new boat every 4 hours. (Unless you use diamonds.) You can bake a carrot cake in a little over an hour.
