Advance to TH9 Or Do Walls?

Everything is maxed except for teslas going to 5 and archer towers going to 10. BK is level 10. Should I do walls or advance?

Definitely do walls, because having do to them on top of lvl 9 & 10 at at TH9 is a pain in the butt . Then you can go enjoy the new things at TH9 without having to worry about finishing your lvl 8 walls at TH9.

you know theres always 2 sides to this. Either max everything or go when you think you're ready.

I'm in the same boat as you and I'm currently upgrading to TH9 with 6 days left. I have all level 7 (purple) walls and started doing skulls but I don't think I could wait another month. The bonuses of going to TH9 have tempted me too much. I have maxed all except walls, teslas (lvl3), AD (lvl5) and AT (lvl9). But I want xbows, more defenses/traps, a 4th storage, another spell, bigger army and to get started on my AQ.

The way I see it, the loot should be the same, if not better. I don't know why everyone says its harder. Yeah you get penalized for TH7 and below but they don't have DE anyway. Theres abandoned bases everywhere at all TH levels and trophy ranges. A TH9 army will allow me to destroy any TH8 and challenge TH9's and some TH10's. I can also protect my resources better than a TH8 can. My TH8 layout can hold its own but against a proper raider with a TH9 army, no way.

Lastly, a clanmate of mine who is level 99 with a level 18 BK and level 22 AQ said by the time you max out a TH8, you're around level 90. His words of wisdom said screw that and go early as you can to get started on your AQ, otherwise you'll be level 100+ with a weak AQ. He said people in Champ league use high-level heroes so the sooner you start the better. It'll take a year to get them to a good level unless you gem.

walls are only useful if they need more wall brakers.

lvl6 = 1 wb lvl6.
lvl7 = 2 wb lvl6.
lvl8 = 2 wb lvl6.

most efficient wall/gold spent = lvl7 walls.

once all are lvl7, don't spend more gold on it. (unless of course your builders can't keep up)

I maxed everything at th8 and even if I had to do it over again I'd do the same thing. However, I maxed my walls before all of my defenses were upgraded so I didn't have idle builders. The question is:

Do you want to max your walls?

If you do, then stay at th8 until they are maxed. At th9 it takes 1 billion gold to max walls. And since you can't do collector raids any more that is an almost impossible task now unless you gem. I love all these people who say just go to th9 because the farming is the same. It's not even close to the same. At th8 I farmed 1.5 million gold per hour with BAM. At th9 I do half that because of the loot penalty (and maybe some of it has to do with the changes SuperCell made).

It also depends on how you farm. If you are an efficiency farmer that uses BAM, then stay at th8 and max. If you are one of those guys with the Napoleon complex that looks down their nose at collector farming and you only raid storages then go ahead and upgrade because inefficient farming is just as good at th9 than it is at th8.

I have started telling all of my clan members to rush TH9.. You get xbows, all the walls, extra troops, ability to max troops, extra D, and there is still plenty of loot to be found from TH9..

With clan wars Th9 is much more valuable to your clan, IMO..

It's what I did and it worked out well for me..

You forgot that by leveling up your walls in advance, you can get to lvl 9 and 10 walls much faster. And why would TH 10 be attacking your TH 8 base anyways? Level 8 walls protect everything - 3 lvl 5 wallbreakers to break past. Very good for TH 9.
