I have town hall level 8 and half my walls are level7 dark purple and I don't know If I should get level 8 walls before upgrading th up still working on maxing defences but the walls are hard to decide. I was just hoping someone could help me with this problem. Thank you!

Max out your defenses before you max out your walls. This is true because walls don't protect against flying units and 5 level 8 walls costs about as much as a defense upgrade.

Very true, I'm a TH8 with maxed defenses and I will have to say that the defenses are more important then the walls.
I've been TH8 for a few weeks now. Almost done with my level 6 wizard towers and I have 1 more mortar to do. I just toss excess gold into walls when I can. I'll probably keep a builder open when I start doing my teslas and just work on walls during those long upgrades. Definitely get them done though; th9 costs are much higher than th8.
