    I agree with you. The purpose of a clan war is a group of people fight for the same goal. If my leader selected me and I don't even know I was selected ( because I don't online everyday ), what's the point of starting a war ?

    Having said, I saw tons of controversy on this, but I think Supercell should firstly implement "member freely join war" in next patch and add the "leader pick fighter" in next next patch. So, no matter how we select, the final result is just a group of people, isn't it ? Also the current auto-pick fighter mechanism should be kept as default even after the new patch released, let leader to decide to switch to "member freely join war" mode or not.

    I think this is much better than keep debating and no progress.

    Got any evidence that it's ruled out? There's no reference to opt out in the stickies.
    It doesn't seem like anyone is against the idea here though, so does someone want to start the argument on why it's bad to allow people to sit out of war?
