Saying "you don't loose loot" isn't true, because you have to nerf your base to participate. We had a clan war where the prep day ended at 3am my time. I had 1.2mil gold in storage (which for TH6 is ALOT) and no shield, but for clan wars I had to put my storages outside the walls for an effective base. I couldn't spend the gold as I had no free builder.

My shield ran out at 4am and I got 300k taken from me in two raids (1st was a no star so no shield). We are already in our 3rd war, another 4am start. I am seriously considering finding a clan that doesn't CW until I am at least TH8, as low level players are just cannon fodder and can't progress through the game when CW is on. We are easy 3 stars for the enemy and aren't strong enough to fight back, so even if the clan wins, doesn't mean we necessarily get any loot.

I never asked for clan wars, in fact I was against it. That is also why I personally will have very little participation rate in it. So if I was against it, why have I no option to not play clan wars? See. Your point is totally invalid.

Its very hard to farm when your armies cost 760k elixir and also trying to save up for lvl 6 archers. Oh, and I also have a trophy base so I cant protect my loot as well.

760k what the heck are you attacking with?

You can farm while you're in a CW. I do it an apparently so does enveryone else. You have 24 hours to prep all you do is request n donate troops. Scouting st this point doesn't matter since bases will change. Then you have 24 hours to do 2 attacks. I see more than enough farming time there. 760k elixir should be 3 to 4 raids for you. Since it seems you're TH 9. Plus some of that comes back to you in your loot war bonus. Just leave your war army training overnight then attack when u wake up then farm for a few hours and guess what you probably have about 12 hours or so left to do another attack now look at all that farming you did in between those 2 attacks. I think people during a war attack less because they concentrate on the war which is good but don't complain because you can't manage your Clash time properly. I just finished a war I attacked Sunday morning after waking up, left my attack army training and guess what I did 8 hours later after I got off work? My second attack!!! Now guess what I did after my second attack I farmed till war finished about and hour ago. Perfect example right there my friends.

Even if you are in a clan war you don't have to attack if you don't want to, just farm normally and don't use either of your CW attacks...
