    Some battle logs:

I actually used the trophy version [with a modified core] instead of the Clans War version, but it still holds up really well. Take into consideration it gave a 24/7 warring hog-rider clan a very hard time despite knowing where the traps were. Solid base.

HexxenHammer do you have a picture of your warbase mod? ---- well an unattacked one?It seems most CW attacks on me are all dragon - with a few hogs attacks. I'm looking for a the best anti-dragon I can find.

Only major change was putting archer towers in the core for strong DPS to help against Dragons and Barb King/Archer Queen. Mortars in the core on a war base isn't very effective. Hope that helps.

Anti-dragon is extremely difficult to pull off at TH8, but there are ways to throw off an inexperienced attacker. Ataraxia is also good choice if your defenses aren't high level (especially AD).

Thanks HexxenHammer - I am a maxed TH7 right now using a modified Trion base for a warbase, but will soon be moving to TH8 so I'm getting regular base and war base ideas. I've been checking out the Nautilus or the Nerd for a regular base - but was looking to try something a bit different for a warbase. I have looked at Ataraxia - but the feedback seemed a bit negative for all dragon attacks which is what I have been mostly seeing lately. With the new editor I will likely make three and test each out.

Good idea using multiple layouts for war. I think Ataraxia has the capabilities to serve you well as an early TH8. It's worth a shot, at the very least.

I see you are a fan of Dokugan's designs. I highly recommend using Nautilus as an early-to-mid TH8. I helped Dokugan test it for a while, and it served me very well. Did better for me than Tempest, even.

FWIW, Avernicus has some really good layouts as well, but I think some of his labyrinth designs are better suited for high level TH8.

Thanks again HexxenHammer - I do like Dokugan's Trion base. I am using the Mungoflago Version with the western elixir collector moved out of the walls and replaced with the new DE drill available to TH7. I will check out the bases you suggest. Thanks.

For the warbase I opened the center a bit to accommodate the Town Hall. For a war tonight I have made some radical changes (see below) to see if it helps against the all dragon attacks I have been hit with lately. Kinda of a spur of the moment change so I'm not sure how it will do.

Great touch on the base HexxenHammer! I'm adding your version to the OP.

Have you tried wiz towers instead of archer towers in the core? How do they fare.

No, I've always used AT in the core. The attack radius of the AT can cover the entire anti-hog/giant/loon ring if they are spread out to all corners of the core.

Also, splash damage has a hard time taking out high HP troops or the King/Queen who might be working their way to the core once the traps and defenses are are destroyed on one side of the base. I prefer higher DPS point defense in the core if that's the scenario. Plus it's kind of a preference thing for me anyway.
