    ...Offense and defense are not the same at all, so why would the way heroes work in both modes be the same? In defense, you have your buildings to defend you from units, while in offense you have your units attack buildings. In defense your heroes' purpose is the same as any other defensive building.. to kill units, while in offense, they have the opposite purpose, which is to kill buildings.

    THAT is why they are available for defense, and not offense, because they are not the same in both modes.

    Spell factory is also a factor for offense, just like heroes are.
    We have balancing for all of defense, so why not for all of offense as well.

    They could easily do something like:
    Spell factory capacity level used prior to upgrade
    Hero level used prior to upgrade

    Perhaps give them more time to fine tune this clan wars system.
    We can only suck it up and wait now
    Quoting myself earlier, I actually do hope they balance both offense and defense as well.
    Since the fact that:
    they take into account both offense and defense when clan matchmaking.

    Lets just hope for some more bug fixes and changes to the clan wars, though not perfect, but for now I'm loving this new update.

    Well part of the misinformation actually came from Steve from Supercell... he did answer a question yesterday regarding whether the heroes would be available for attacking even though they are upgrading. His answer was in the lines of "100% yes" or whatever. Ok, the thread contained many questions, but this was the main concern in the thread so I took that reply as an answer. No complaining about the good work done by Supercell, just pointing out that misinfo comes from all directions!

    I do think though that as the attacking force comes from your own base, then to be totally logical about it the heroes should not be available if injured or upgrading... I would like them to be available, but understand that they are not. Yes, I think the idea is to get us to use those gems!

    Anyhow, while I never thought I would be hyped about this update I am. Fix the bugs and this will be fantastic!!

    We get an awesome update in a long while, which is quite well thought out IMO, except for a feel flaws (which could be worked on later), so just chill your ♥♥♥♥ and enjoy whats given.
    Exactly. Do not touch the scout button, it glitches the game. Clan wars is great!

    Automatic shield should apply during preparation period & during war ... it's pretty obvious people are using this preparation time to prepare!

    No release has been perfect.

    Whether its on a game, public transport, software..anything!

    Thats how you find the major bugs when it goes live. They cant perfect everything before release


    It took the Oyster card - the London public transport card - 18 years to be perfected.

    I work for Auckland Council, We've rolled out the Pulic transport payment card.

    18 months in we still have issues and bugs etc.

    It takes time. Be grateful

    It's a simple logic actually.

    Attack = Use real army in army camp / daily village raid.
    Defend = Use fake base in war map that mimic our real base.

    If you expect your dead hero to be available in CW, then where do all your troops come from?

    Thats obvious isnt it? You cant attack it in normal game either if you have them upgrading, i dont see a point here

    Heros unavailable if upgrading

    I can see some logic in this but I assume your unavailable heros are taken into account in the matchmaking calculation. So unless you gem them it works against you (a bit like having upgraded tier 1 farming troops you may not be using to attack strong bases in clan wars). Active farming clans which have at least 1 hero upgrading constantly and like to max everything before moving on could therefore be at quite a disadvantage.

    Doesn't seem particularly fair to me but I am sure it depends on your perspective. Probably makes clan wars a little less attractive for a lot of us.
