Ok I made a mistake by upgrading my TH level to 9; assuming that only the loot level that I give would drop for opponents. At TH level 8 I was easily making million elixir and gold in couple hours. At level 9 I couldn't make 700k elixir in 2 days. I dropped trophies from 1250 to 960 and now I only find opponents with either couple tousand loot or I find very hard enemies.
My archers are at lvl 5 giants and minions at lvl4. What is your suggestions so that I can find suitable opponents?
go up to the gold leagues. i'm also a TH9 (almost maxed out TH8), and i'm getting a bunch of loot here. just gotta be patin when raiding bases.

You can easily farm collectors in the 1500s.

Slowly working on walls and the only thing I've used the entire time is BAM raids (Barb, Archer, Minions) or BotS raids (Balloon and Minions). You can get away with just using barbs and archers and raid anything between 150-200k commonly. Maybe 100k if you think it's worth it.
Just make sure to keep your trophies within that range and don't dip below 1450 or so. I personally never dropped below 1500 and was able to generally farm a million gold an hour or every 2 hours on a really bad day.
This is my base, that thing was built purely in the 1500s. I crawled up to 2k or so for DE raiding.
